Would be nice if players can use the weapons unlocked from elite specs without having to use the traits for it.

Dont agree since it will increase the load they have to balance.

Every specialization is meant to be played mostly, cause as dd d/d exceptions do exist, with the specific weapon.

Also as linken said it would be a problem if you think about game balance.

With regards to balance, the only thing I want to be able to use are just the weapon skills and not the utilities and other new mechanics found on the other specs. Sure it may pose a problem with regards to balancing it will at the very least add more flavor in terms of playstyle and customization for all classes.
