Hello,
I searched the forums for any previous threads on this and could not find any. I am looking to use the in game models to render in different external rendering software. I would like to know from an Arena-net employee on two things, please.
A:) IS it doable? I searched the web looking for how to extract game models, and some are saying that you can download the non-compressed data files. That requires unflagging the .exe to download the compressed versions. I do not have experience with coding, so I don’t know if that is just them blowing smoke.

B:) Is it illegal to extract the models and their textures for personal non commercial use? Giving full recognition that Arena-Net owns everything Guild Wars 2 related.

Reasoning: I wanted to create a background for my computer of my Norn character unarmed sparring with her Charr friend.

Thank you for your time,
Brynhildr The Kind.
