I think they’re trying to prevent the infusion slot from being a damage or survivability increase. Agony is mostly there for gating.

I’m just disappointed in the lack of creativity and innovation. I honestly didn’t expect them to do something like this. I bet the infusion item works as a buff too. Which probably took 1 person less than a day to code that in.

What use is the Increased Experienced gained by 20% ones if you have to be such a high level to get gear with infusion slots?

SP’s are one of the most useful items in the game. Plus it is a great way to level up alts faster.

No, they only needed one infusion. Increased gold find 20%. With four ascended items thats 80% more gold, with the run of scavenging that’s 95% more gold, with omnomberry bars that’s 135% more gold. Kill the spider queen in AC for 10 silver (14 with food). After this you can get more than 23 silver per boss kill in dungeons with this infusion.

Do you honeslty think anyone is going to want to run anything but gold find?

Unless it has some hidden cap that the game doesn’t show yet (which is likely, cause ArenaNet loves not telling us stuff until after we’ve wasted our resources) this will either be quickly changed or it will cause crazy inflation.

EDIT: This is not the case. Only amulets currently have utility infusion slots so you can only have one of these bonuses at a time.

There’s a non hidden cap on gold find currently : only the amulet can be gotten in “Utility Infusion Slot” mode.

So there are 3 different infusion slots for amulets.
I guess you can’t put utility infusions into offensive or defensive ones?

Isn’t 20% MF way more profitable at high levels than 20% gold find? I get the vast majority of my gold in fractals runs from drops, not coin.

That’s a good catch. I didn’t understand how infusion slots worked (it’s far more complicated than it needed to be IMO) as I opted out of FotM (although it seems I won’t have that luxury now that I basically need daily rings if I ever want a chance at equipping multiple characters with ascended items).

Assuming the utility slot stays unique to the amulet, that’s a good way to balance out the gold find, I still think the other utility infusions are mostly novel. It seems that these infusions seem directly aimed at legendary chasers. Skill points and karma are pretty worthless to most people unless they are going for legendaries (I know skill points can be turned into gold through forging some items). Unless people find some kind of karma or skill point farm which can be turned into money, I expect the gold find one to be the most valuable.

In FotM the drop rates may be worthwhile for people who want drops, but every other place in the game has terrible RNG drop rates. You will notice a lot more rares if you run with full MF gear, but not only will your performance be inferior (counter intuitive to getting better drops in the first place) but you need to stack pretty high MF to notice a difference. With the 40% from omnom bars you get very little change, 20% from an amulet will help edge it out some more, but really I think it’s more efficient to just stack gold find. It’s a guarantee and with the current loot tables of non-fractals areas (and the gold drops of bosses) it’s probably going to be more profitable.

They obviously want to save some interesting stats for their mounted combat feature.

This has to be one of the worst suggestions I’ve seen in this forum. 15% movement speed buff from an infusion??? What should the stat boosting infusions be, +1000 ? (Just to put this into perspective, they’re actually +4 to a single stat)
