“Vertical”, where It’s pretty much self-explanatory: Progression that emphatises/promotes POWER. Where players are given a single method to obtain what Is emphatized the most: POWER. No alternative Is given to obtain that power. Nothing. Nada. Only the nonstop repetition and dedicated time, In order to make the player feel “accomplished” and “satisfied” with… … the dedicated time.
That, my friends, Is what I call a way to alienate players: content Is FORCED towards everyone’s throat and there’s nothing we can do about It, other than follow the mindless track of button mashing to reach the ultimate goal: POWER.
Call me a drama queen, like “Hey, nothing has been said about It yet. Give It time.” That’s not really true: “This is just the beginning. In November, we’re only adding the first level of Infusions and Ascended Rings and Back slots”. It’s on the blog. They have plans to add even more stronger and EXCLUSIVE TO DUNGEONS gear. Can you imagine what will be, on the years to come? The same thing you see from the current MMORPG’s, since way back where everyone actually ENJOYED being ALIENATED.

As you may notice by reading this far, I was one of those who saw Colin’s smile, with all the hype and such, where *grinding was something that was a OPTION, not MANDATORY In order to archieve progression In Guild Wars 2."

Not like “they” would read this and say “Chillax, Gust… we were trolling the community. It’s all a joke. Here’s a cup of water to chill you out. HAHA, YOU FEEL FOR IT!”. And we all laughed at each other.

Yeah, I know.

Just… shoving this out of my throat. Feels better now, If you ask me.

Now… I’ll get back to embrace and accept that *GW2 will become “Yet another MMO” that the devs promises It would NEVER be".

My heart Is broken.

Good bye.

They didn’t think that people would burn thru end game content, to the extent of adding DR and armies of undead in the zone where the end game content is located either but that doesn’t mean people won’t.

What scares me is if my suspicions are true, then this patch is the very thing I left behind when I left Blizzard games altogether.

What scares me and most of us about this, is that they are listening to the very people who never stay with a game longer then three months instead of listening to the rest of us who stay with games for years. There’s a big difference between the short amount of cash they’ll get from people playing these dungeons who will run off at the first sign of a new shiny and the long term cash they’ll get from the rest of us who stick with a good game for years to come.
