Just go play the other game. GW2 isn’t subscription, it doesn’t need to keep you here for the sake of keeping you here. Treat it like any other game in your library: play it when you feel like it, set it aside when you don’t.
Priorities, what to do?
Spend hours with dye
GW2 is kinda in a “break” right now, so for players that did pretty much everything this is a great time to also take a break and wait for the next update, for other players this is a good time to farm gold, craft your gear and get ready for the next update.
I have my legendary, my ranger have ascended gear in every slot possible (I’m looking at you aqua breather) , I was in the winning WvW server last tournament and currently tournament too (go HoD ) and finished the meta on both in the first couple weeks, now I’m logging just to maintain the daily and do a couple world bosses and guild events on weekends, then I go play another game, and waiting for the grand opening of the LS season 2.
(and the other 8 elite specs maxed too)

I am with you 100%.
I usually get on because of the friends I have made during my time in-game, not as much for the game itself. I hope in the future they add some expansions, similar to Gw1 with the other story lines, other places. The world used to be a lot bigger and then they shrunk it down so I hope it regains a portion of it in the near future.

As much as I want an expansion, Lankybrit gave a very viable and correct contribution since we already have SEVERAL TOPICS on this. I would go as far as purchasing a retail expansion AND paying gems to unlock it for play. -LOL

Me too, probably….
Would you like some hard cheeze with your sad whine?
I believe GW2 is going to take a hit soon. The old school guys like me are already looking elsewhere
‘A hit’? – Sorry…but based on what? Wildstar’s imminent release? – i think that’s a little OTT.
I wonder how many other MMO’s have been released, since the launch of GW2, where someone along the way came out with exactly the same argument? – it would be interesting to find out – although i doubt there’s an A-net employee anywhere…with finger poised at the off switch, shrieking ’ It’s Wildstar….everybody RUN!’
If you really want to look further afield then do so, by all means, they already have your money so it’s your loss really.
Sorry, but you don’t get to speak for me. I don’t agree with anything you said really and I definitely don’t think an expansion is the solution to any problems that people say exist.

Picture leaked from super secret ANet Dev meeting where they are debating over whether to panic over Wildstar or not. As you can see both sides are represented.
I guess by extension he basically means new zone, race, weapons, which would indeed be great and has been requested a lot (wanna get my crossbow :<) ; however, fact is the living story is, as it has been stated before, on a break, which explains the feeling of emptyness you didn’t have before. Now seeing that you did everything you could in the game with your time & money, I’m not quite sure if that’d be enough for you. I mean you would just clean it in not so long and that’d be it, unless you’d stay for the living story that will come back in not so long I guess.
So as much as I look forward to a new extension, I doubt that’s enough for people that have been able to do every single thing in the game – many level 80, played alot in WvW, every single dungeons paths + fractals, ascended gear, and whatever I forgot, that’s just huge. And I doubt a few new zones (or one), maybe a few levels, new dungeon, a new race and new weapons would make you stay on the game much longer, you’d just clean it out in some weeks and then back to the “meh” content. That would probably work best for newer players that will discover it later or ‘mid-term’ players that are, I believe, the majority of the active players who, like me, have played quite a lot of hours but still have a lot to do and would perfectly enjoy new stuff. But that’s just my guess.
AstralProjections, I find your signature very offensive and order your take it off now unless you want to be ripped off by a gang of kitties during the night.
Regards,
For christmas I’d like to get a crossbow for my characters.
With love, a cute kitty.

Sigh, I was considering to listen to your concerns, but the moment I was interested, you played the “next big game x is coming” card…
….
With the release of Wildstar next month, things may be changing for you guys. People have been reluctant to go back to WoW, but Wildstar may indeed take a lot of your players. ….
Since wildstar is from ncsoft too they dont care. And with chinese release they dont have to hold on the old players anyway.
So if you look from the side of anet / ncsoft they have no problem at all if the “veterans” quit the game and join maybe wildstar (playing wildstar would give them even more money → more good for them)
And with chinese release they gain a LOT new players (potential gem-store user) and they also have the subscribtion thingy or am I wrong? Dunno exactly because i stoped playing gw2 a few weeks ago so i have almost no information about the game atm.
(D3 reaper of souls WAY more fun /,,/)
also sorry for my bad english i hope you can understand what i wanted to say ^-^
Well, this is what you get when you have a game that is largely PvE only but gets almost no updates to its PvE content except for some debris everywhere.
WvW would be a great endgame if it got more than 5 FPS.

You are 100% correct my friend. ANet is a company that sees only profit margins and like all companies they couldn’t give a kaboodle about veterans.
I remember reading that veteran players in MMOs are actually the lowest paying, because as time goes on they have already bought everything that they need or stopped buying premium due to being upset with the game and the net result is that eventually veterans become completely useless profit-wise.
Some games intentionally try to get rid of them on a regular basis because from a business standpoint, people who have played too long but no longer provide sufficient income are just loaners who are leeching off the company.
The most profit is made from constantly cycling in newer players.
I’m usually really sweet… but this an internet forum and you know how it has to be.

Hi everyone,
Since this thread is inviting to debate about other games than Guild Wars 2, we’ll now close it.
Thank you for your understanding.
