I am absolutely tired of getting:

tripped
stunned
pulled
pushed
dazed
confused <—- really stirs my engine
interrupted etc.
one can be stacked on the the other or in succession causing a perfect storm of

and don’t get me started on Massive Health and Massive Hitting Mobs with insane range AE

YOU CANT DO ANYTHING AND DIE. (grenth area and others)

I don’t care about who thinks this is fun, I sure as HELL DO NOT.

Creating stupid scenarios with overwhelming UNFUN mechanics are not a great way to continue growing your user base.

Challenge doesn’t mean mobs with massive health and more damage damage output with buddy mobs than stun the entire player base.

I have 8 80’s dealing with this, each have least 2-3 10$ purchased items, purchased bank tabs etc

I have had hope eternal of these glaring and ugly game mechanics being addressed, but no.

NO longer will I speak about it

NO more.

I vote with my $$, I’m done supporting your game.

I was with you up to this, then it got stupid.

You can do lots of things: stability, stun breakers, dodging, etc.

What you can and should say is that, while “fun” is relative, chain CC and HP sponges are two mechanics that, by themselves, are generally uninteresting, combined are, to some – myself included, a boring and uninteresting pain in the kitten .

Also vets are mostly a non-issue since they’re easy. I’d say the biggest issue are elites, since they’re almost as much trouble as champions but without all the juicy loot.

In RuneScape(yes, I know) there is a spell called entangle which is the exact same as immobilize, except it lasts for 40 seconds against npcs and 20 seconds against players. Another spell called ice barrage freezes for 10 seconds. This would be incredibly OP except after it wears off, there is a period of 2-4 seconds where the affected is immune from getting re-entangled/frozen. This is what GW2 needs.

I don’t even think it would trivialize or devalue stability because stability is 100% ignore and usually for a decent duration.

Yes, but they are invariably of short duration (mostly 10s and under) and on extremely long timers (30s+, usually).

No point even bothering with it – first you have to identify the attack that’s going to give you an effect Stability can prevent (not an easy task among all the FX), then you have to have Stability up before that attack lands (because Stability doesn’t remove any effects), then you get hit again by that attack the instant Stability wears off (leaving you vulnerable to the effects for the next 20s+) anyways.

i agree with the op, this is the reason i play guardian, the single best utility skill in the game in my opinion is stand your ground, (for world vs world atleast)

gives stability+
its instant+
can be reduced by 20% cd +
it breaks stun+
it gives the boon aoe to allies
if it wasn´t enough it also gives retaliation.

every guardian on w v w use this skill, personally i don´t think it is overpowered because the duration is short but i think every class diserve to have an “oh kitten get me off the stun lock”

people who play pve or spvp don´t find it as useful because mobs or 8 guys can´t have unlimited source of CC, but 30-80 zergs in w v w do

Continuous major CC has been a major problem in the game since the beginning. Stability? Can you spam stability? The problem is that continuous major CC negates skill-based play as once you use your cooldowns you are at the mobs mercy. If they can spam CC, you are toast and it has nothing to do with your skill.

This is purely a design issue, not a learn to play issue.

yes, a group of elite pve enemies are a problem. And? I rarely play the elitist in here, but really: L2P.

It seems we are talking about PvE champs, I will agree, they are not really that much fun. Can’t do anything to them except damage them because they are immune to most control(I think the can be immobolized but who cares about that on a champ that isn’t really moving from it’s spot to begin with.)

In WvW, this would be a l2p or slot some stun breakers/stability if available.

I speak for my self and no one else. Only fools believe they speak for a majority.

I Have seen situations where no amount of L2P would help you – where you use stability/stun breaker to get out of trouble, and once its effect stops you get cc-chained for 5-10 seconds (and then you die, often without an ability to even escape). The worst offenders so far were of course chain knockbacks/pulls where a number of mobs play pong with you until they get bored.

Actions, not words.
