Last I’ve heard it’s bugged and is currently not droppable. Any chance it might get fixed someday/soon? Would really love that, since I collect auras. And it will also bring in more players to do the meta, since a lot of people seem to complain HoT maps are kinda empty lately.

Actually, is it bugged at all (perhaps just an extremely low droprate or no one has discovered it yet)?

And what about the Verdant Brink version? Was there ever any aura item there?

According to that article it’s a promotional item given out by gw2 in china. If you buy 488 rmb (about 100 usd) worth of gems you will get the vial of liquid aurillium as a reward.
