So, I’m in the middle of crafting The Legend and I’m currently on Vol. 3. One of the materials I need are; Vials of Manganese Dioxide which are a RARE drop from corals.

I’ve been harvesting the garanteed 4 nodes in Mount Malestrom on 9 characters daily for 10 days + 3 in Cursed Shore 3 in Ember Bay and 3 in Straits of Devestation on 9 Characters. This is just over 100 corals harvested and I’m up to 3 Salts.
Can you please, for the love of all thats holy increase the droprate OR increase the number of corals that spawns on any given map.

Considering Im 3/10 in I’ll need to harvest another ~450 corals.

Pretty sure there’s more than 3 nodes in a map.

Good luck.

The underwater section of Bitterfrost has 4 coral, so you can get 10 unbound gathers/day plus the coral, and then do a bit of berry farming. In Ember Bay, there’s a bunch of coral not far from the seaweed farm.

Good luck.

I just listed the static nodes, excluding Bitterfrost Frontier.
Also, Coral spawns only in deep water areas, meaning only a handful of maps can spawn them and even fewer have static spawns. Couple this with the abyssmal droprate of them, well. Im gonna need that luck.

I guess 11 maps could be a handful. Maybe try more than just the permanent nodes? One never knows, they might be more prone to giving you what you seek. =)

There are 4 in the Benthic Kelp Beds in Mount Maelstrom but they are spread apart and their positions are random. They also do not require deep waters. Some spawn on the edge between Whisper Bay and Blighted Arch in Malchor’s Leap. There are also coral nodes east of Wrathwave Deeps in Sparkfly Fen near where teq spawns.

I found the simplest way to do it was to put one character in Iron Marches and do a circuit of the lakes once or twice a day.

You won’t get coral orbs like you will in the higher level maps, but the map itself is easy to navigate which makes the run quick and simple and the enemies are easy to escape or kill. I didn’t count for my first 2 Manganese (because I was experimenting with different options) but it took me 58 nodes to get the last 8 I needed which would have been about 15 runs, I think it took me about 9 days.

Which was fine for me because while I was doing that I was working on all the other stuff I needed for that tier.

Thanks for the tip, Danikat. I probably wouldn’t have considered Iron Marches.

Only 4? It was 6 on Bitterfrost Frontier when I needed Manganese Salt two months ago.

I found that this was by far the most efficient method: Park all your characters under the ice in Bitterfrost Frontier and harvest all 6 corals with them once a day. Takes only ~5 min per character because the node locations are static and the area is quite small (as opposed to other maps with corals). Unless something changed recently.
