I just listened to and read Colin’s latest post and video about the next six months for the game.

He said there would be updates to WvW and PvP to help both the casual and more competitive players, but first and foremost he said that:

The Dynamic Event system is the core element of this game and that the player base must work together to get through them and that there will be exotics at the end of them.

I have been posting this very thing in several thread for the past few months.

To actually have Colin of all people vindicate what I have been saying proves that first I have been doing my research and interpretation of my findings correctly.

He went on to state that the DEs and the open world (thus open world raiding) will be the core of their efforts. They will do this by improving the rewards given out and make it more worth while to go to ANY zone be that newbie or Orr itself.

Simply they have acknowledged that reward system is flawed and will be improved. They also stated new DEs will be coming online.

So those looking for closed raiding will have to learn to work with an open raid system and it will require coordination and cooperation. As I have stated more then once and been laughed at for saying as much.

Once again I thank Anet for vindicating what I have been saying even though I know it was not aimed at me in any way shape or form.

So people get out there. Start learning the dynamic event web in Orr and start making core DE raid groups with a minimum of 10 people and I wish us all luck in our endeavors

well to a degree that is a true statement.

But it would be nice to see people start to discuss how to organize and plan out core DE raid groups and how to get them started in short order. They didn’t say they would remove DEs but add more.
So we need to get these DE raid groups working on various areas with the game like for example Frost Gorge Sound and Fireheart Rise

I’m sure that sort of discussion would be way more cohesive between, say, members of the same guild, since that gives people the structure and venue for organizing parties. Talking about it on the forums in an up-in-the-air manner, with random folks, especially when the features haven’t been implemented, seems pointless to me.
Each situation will require a different plan, and each plan needs an organized group, possibly with a leader. So, guild level. Not public forum level.

Valid points except the not implemented statement. The only think not released is the better rewards.

But again I see your point.

Considering the last time they “fixed” rewards, and their “fix” actually heavily decreased drop rates, I am not willing to lend any credence to this post.

I think if we insert a couple of words it might be more accurate.

Instead of

I think this is more accurate

Nerfing DEs and the open world (thus open world raiding) to the point of unplayability will be the core of their efforts.

What I was most happy to hear was that they will be adding storylines that take place over a longer period of time. That has been one of my biggest disappointments throughout the GW2 experience. I’m so glad.

Having done pretty much every event in the higher level areas multiple times I personally think they are boring now.

In fact a search of the entire text for ‘exotic’ turns up nothing.
