The skins are horrible. Both weapons and armor. The greatsword is of “decent” quality. For the mats that went into it I expected more affects on it. The other weapon skins other than the greatsword are terrible.
The ascended armor skins are REALLY bad. They should be reworked. I understand ANET’s logic in making them look like crap, so people do other things for better looking armor in the game. Still though, if you’re making something that is superior over ALL exotic armor in the entire game it should at least LOOK good.
-1 Weapons, I don’t care to use the skin and I had unmet expectations with Tequatl weapons. (I expected grotesque weapons made of corpses.)
Armor just depends. I like the Light and Medium~ The Medium, like all Medium, doesn’t fit male Sylvari correctly, which is the only thing I dislike. The helm is odd though on Medium, and I don’t like the Light shoulders.
The heavy armor is repulsive to me.
So:
+ 1 Light.
½ + on Medium because it has incorrect scaling that I’m simply just sick of.
- on Heavy.

+1 for some of the weapons. I like some of them, in some of the colors, but not across the board. Which is understandable, no person is going to like everything.
+1 for some of the armor. I like the medium armor. The heavy might be ok depending on dyability and color scheme. It’s going to take some playing with. -1 for the light armor though. Gosh that made me cry…. but at least I don’t need to worry about changing or redoing my armor combo, just transmute and go. hehe.

I just watched a youtube video previewing them. I don`t like them. The human heavy set looks like something a two year old made. For all the talent anet has to make models and textures, the higher lvl you get the more hideous the stuff looks. I personally love the look and feel of the krytan weapons and the t3 human cultural armor. I would really like to see more items following that sort of style added.
No to both. How they could implement such a horrible grind with at the end of the road such non-appealing skins is beyond me. Even if I try to look at it from a business point of view (crystals) I don’t get it, because you just alienate too many players with it. Some weapons are ok if you really have no special skin in your inventory to replace it with; that’s the only “positive” thing I could say about it.
I was complimented on my Cleric’s Longbow… (It’s for Temple event support … not dungeons or WvW so don’t read too much into the stat choice …. it still does MORE DAMAGE overall than my Valk exotic one for reasons I haven’t figure out yet).
I do like the looks of it too…. but I’m also halfway done with a gift of light meaning it’s about to become Wings of Dwayna instead…
I’ve also left the 1H sword “Ascended Berserker Red” for now. But the Greatsword and Axe I instantly transmuted over with Dragon’s Deep GS, and SAB Axe.
Meh. They’re…ok, but they don’t really suit me. Same with the armor. It’s not bad, it just looks more like armor from a new dungeon rather than the (soon to be) strongest armor you can make. I’d probably just transmute them, since we can do that.
+0 for the ascended weapons. Don’t care either way. I only use my ele for everything (rest are lv 80 or will be lv 80 rp characters) and she is getting 2 incinerators eventually. So I don’t need the weapons.
+1 for the armor. I’m getting ascended for these characters anyways (armor at least) and for my ele (to have something to put T3 on) and ascended medium for my engi because its so sexy and not a trench coat!

While I can appreciate the art, and that it’s well done, I personally do not like the style and will not be grinding to get it.
I would love to see Anet hold a design contest for the community to design armor and weapons. Let anet choose their top 5 or 10 favorites, then let the players vote on the winner. The piece/set could then be named after the artist. It’s a great way to rally the community and make the players feel special and connected to the game.
While I’m not a great artist, I know may of you guys & gals are, and I would love to see your ideas!

+1 for the weapons. While it is sad that stat combinations = color changes. So if you want a certain color to go with your getup you have to make one just to waste for a skin. Which isn’t terrible, it just seems like a step backwards in the system. Either way the skins look pretty good for the most part.
If the armors stay the same as what was “leaked” earlier then -1 on those (all on female). While no matter what they looked like I’d stick with the armor set I’ve been wearing for a year now. Though I’m sure someone can make them look decent.

Its not realty if you like them or not its the fact that they are very diffrent from what we have in the game. It happens every time they add in a new LS skin for weapons etc.. i find ppl who out right hate them and there are other ppl who thinks they are the best thing that they have seen. That the thing this is a very subjective if you like something or dislike something due to how they look. So i say as long as they look different from what we have in the game its a good addition to the skins in GW2.
