It’s not just the wings, Char. There are areas of terrain that swallow your feet, like the rug at the entry to the Great Lodge. If you stand somewhere your feet show all the way down to the soles, the wings will clear the ground.

They’re a nice big beacon telling thiefs exactly where to place their daggers.

I’ll probably get a set, but really wish there were at least basic white-gray-black options.

About the wing:

If you plan to bring out white Wing as bagpack, please make it a bit harder to get.
Not that it feels like cheap shop item that everybody can get. But more something that was hard to be achieved.

Angel of death theme seems awesome to me. I’m not into the wings and I won’t buy them, but this is what I’d do with them if I had them. Make my necro an angel of death type thing.

Why?!

Because whoever is in charge of monetization wants to inflate the prices of gems as high as possible, so they become something only the highest income farmers and market fiddlers can really afford, to increase the chances of people getting them with cash rather than from other players with gold.

That’s why they didn’t sell this wings along the rest of its outfit, and didn’t gave them retroactively to those who got the outfit, and instead released them for just one day.

Gods know if they’ll ever come back for more than one day next Halloween. Probably not. They will probably pop them just for 24hours once in a while when gems get lower in price.

Thank the ‘practices’ they developed from games like Mapple Story being applied here.

Well I like them on my Necro with the Lich outfit, but not sure about the other races. On Asura they seem to sink in the ground, but haven’t tried them on mine as yet.

either have your weapons out or not then go into “H” then press the swap weapons button. oh hello wings and weapons

I can’t believe they’re making it so limited that most normal players can’t even buy them. I can’t farm that kind of gold in 24 hours and I don’t get paid until Thursday. I had a perfect outfit picked out and I was looking forward to them. I shut the game down for the day, and I think my cash spending on this game has come to an end. Good job.

I have to agree with this one. I left that last game that had these wings, now I feel like I’m right back there. Everyone’s wearing them and frankly it looks ridiculous.

What exactly do they have to do with Tyria? Where’s the lore behind these?

And so it begins

Well I thought about it. Fortunately looked at the videos.

Clipping – a fail, but they look so awful on an Asuran overall to me, that it seems like the clipping is not the major problem. They just scale badly on Asura period, and if they scaled better I bet the clipping would go away.

Texture – Look at some of the exclusive hair styles, for instance, that have a lot more, I guess dimensionality is what I am trying to say. These wings seem very flat and lifeless – cheap plastic rather than cardboard in the videos and in the preview pane in game.

Animation – gentle rise and fall should already be available from the work done on the blades backpack, or at least that item shows they could do it.

As to why have Wings in a game without flight, well look at the amazing elaborations on some actual historical armors. If you like wings and think they’re cool I’ll bet someone on this planet could make you a pretty nice set to actually wear, limited only by your pocket depth.

And if they moved a bit they could actually act a cooling system. Real armor, if you have ever worn it, is HOT. Tens of thousands of soldiers and knights have died of heat related problems across the centuries.

Finally, I personally wish this item had been double or triple the price and had introduced a new class of Back Skin that could be DYED! These cry out for the kind of variation the hair system has.

From the floor it looks like you are in Divinities Reach. If so the floors are weird there and are not typical of the rest of the world. Even some minis sink through the floor on some of the streets there. You might want to check out a different location before deciding.

I previewed it on my Asura and even in the preview it looked like the lowest part of the wings were below the lowest part of my feet. So I’m not sure a different location will fix the issue.

How so? The wings match the “Raiment of the Lich” wings from GW1, which were missing from the GW2 version of the same outfit.

Well it’s official (though I guess it was with the DBZ haircut and neon dyes, so doubly official), ANet has finally decided to admit the majority of their game community has absolutely no taste. The flashier, louder, and larger, the better, the game will from this point onward be monetarily supported by people with attention needs.

Oh well, maybe with the extra money they’ll filter out some of the BS gambling and actually sell more things for a regular and honest price, buuuuuut probably not.

The look to mush like Aion . Wings on Asmodians are black. I guess they’ll give us white ones to match soon.

It reminds me of a Korean game I used to play a few years ago. Desperate for cash game, they actually came up with all kinds of wing models and sizes, the thing was that the game didn’t really have a lore to talk about. That, and also, the fact that with those wings you could, you know, FLY.

I wonder about all the models of gliders that will show up in gemstore in HoT now.

So they’re big? You know what’s worse than wings that fit the lore and came from GW1? Holographic flapping wings, wimpy undead wings, the giant glowing metal blade wings.

So do these wings have any sway and sheeme in the light like they were in guild wars 1 before they “fixed” them and made then into cardboard? Or is it just a copy and paste of the cardboard cut out they turned em into after the “fix”.

That costume in guild wars 1 was the only thing I spent real money on for in game items and the “fix” is the reason I never will again.
