I’ve heard that map completion is going to be removed from wvw. When is this supposed to happen? At HoT release or sooner?

Play some WvW, though! You’ll get your map completion and maybe even find you like it.

My guild was talking about the same thing the other night. I have no idea when it’d happen if it does.

I’m guessing some WvW only players (not me) are asking when they don’t have to clear 25 open world maps and 5 cities for the same reward. As a PvE player, I fully realize who got the short end of the stick on this one (and it’s not us).

Actually it might be a possible change that will come with the expansion.

In one of the latest POIs someone caught a glimpse of the amount of WPs, POIs, SPs etc. required to get 100% map completion when the devs opened the big map in order to use the wp. The amount actually required PVE only excluding the amount needed currently with the addition of the WvW maps.

In short if this change will come i will automatically get 14 Gifts of Exploration :O

It should totally be removed from wvw. As a member of the server Blacktide, I’m never getting my star.

I don’t know how true this is, but I’ve read that if you use a transformation tonic while running around, a good amount of people will leave you alone as they know your’e just there for map completion.

I’m sure there will still be death, but maaaaybe not quite as much

Or that could have been a result of the test servers not including any WvW maps.

It was stated in one of the blogs a few weeks back (Don’t remember which one, too lazy to search for it) that WvW completion was in fact being removed from world completion. Being as it’s a change associated with the expansion, it will probably take effect on HoT’s release.

No, it was never stated in any blog. It was speculation based on a screenshot of pois, vistas, and skill points in a character’s world completion screen. It’s all speculation, it has not been confirmed by anyone ever.

I went and searched through the more recent news posts as I remembered a short statement about WvW map completion being buried in one of them, seems I can’t find it though so I redacted my previous post for potential misinformation.
