Wait times for Wintersday Event
Remove the ability to join a lobby that will finish in 2 minutes.
It’s not really an issue since it just resets. It failing however is another problem, but in the case of the JP, that’s how you can score a private instance.

Hide the UI. (ctrl+shift+h)
Otherwise how can you say we shouldn’t be wisps for this one?
Falling wisps aren’t as fun to watch.
They probably didn’t make people whatever because it’s a much easier experience compared to everyone starting at the same point and expected to hop between a few little objects. Not only can you choose a different path, you can also simply wait a snowflake turn, then you likely won’t see the other players again, assuming you all don’t fail early on.
The wispy stuff made the Halloween JP a lot easier with regards to seeing stuff, so I don’t see why they don’t also do it for Wintersday.
And I agree on not letting you join an instance that only has 2 minutes left. In the bell choir, it’s already over by that point and you can’t actually get anything.

Because the Halloween JP is a moving living jumping puzzle. You need all the sight you can get. The Wintersday JP is just a jumping from platform to platform. Big white discs floating in the sky. As long as you don’t stand still too long you don’t need too much sight. You can see the next platform, be there a norn there or not. The platform is larger
Why are people so against making it easier for other people to see things? I guess ‘cause it’s easy for you it must be easier for everyone else, huh?
Also the Halloween JP wasn’t technically moving. It was just an illusion. If you went too slow, you’d die. Similar to the Wintersday one. Weird, isn’kitten

It’s the slippery slope of difficulty. Now matter how easy, people will always want it easier. As a result, 75% of the people find the JP boringly easy and can farm/grind it million times an hour while 2% of the population is on the forum whining how hard it. How far do you go to cater difficulty until the entire game becomes: press spacebar to win

You’re just being plain ignorant if you think we’re asking for them to make the jumps easier. We can see for the Halloween jumping puzzle. We want to be able to see the same way for this jumping puzzle.
Then there’s the added bonus of wasting loading a map because you joined with 2 minutes left in bell choir, or the jumping puzzle, or insert festival game here. Because it happens everywhere.
AFAIK, all instances of a map are on the same timer, so you wouldn’t have found an alternative map with more time anyway. The map doesn’t kick you out when it refreshes, so your best option is to sit tight until reset. You then at least avoid getting the “map is full” issue again.

Its more enjoyable seeing the other characters and it does add to the challenge of the event. They already nerfed the present field, how much easier should they make it?

Fair point actually, but it’s not really common knowledge. However, that just makes it clearer that they don’t need to be on the same timer, and that’s one of the problems with the current system for festivals. All the rooms don’t need to start at the same time as there is no point to doing so. The only thing you have to hope for right now is that your map breaks and the timer stays at 0, so you can keep going and going. I say that because every other match when it should just start up again, it will again tell me the map I’m trying to join is full even though I was just there. It also pins you in spot with an invisibility buff for a couple seconds so you can’t spam trying to get a map by the way. Taxing on the system I guess?
I also want the wisp functionality from Halloween, because it worked very well for just doing the jumping puzzle. Odd thing is even though the wisps are amazing for running the clock tower, the clock tower had issues that were much worse then winter wonderland, when I think back to it. If it’s your first time doing clock tower you basically have to wait for other people to have fun. If you fell early from not knowing the path yet, it quickly becomes grating when all you want to try is that part right at the beginning. Instead you have to wait for the entire jumping puzzle to be finished if someone experienced is in your lobby. To top it off at the end of clock tower the server determines there’s not enough time to go again, it will give a line from the Mad King, and you’ll sometimes have to wait an entire 3 minutes doing nothing. And again it lets people come in at the 2 minute mark so that they can enjoy not doing anything.
So remove the ability to join if the match is ending in 2m, and don’t have them arbitrarily start at the same time.
Also wisps are awesome. It would be great for the majority of players, and you can make it a toggle if a vocal minority becomes super against it. My settings shouldn’t be someone else’s choice, as I can assure them their skins don’t matter as I set people to greyish pink default with my current settings options when I need to. That option doesn’t mean the wisps are out of the question either just because it marginally makes it better for people “whining”. For none shall stop my crusade to make the game more game mechanics vs. player instead of system vs player which is what I think it is for festivals.
It’s probably for the same reason people freak out when the option of making everyone look default and plain as a graphical setting comes up. They just want to show everyone their super obnoxious junk they paid lots of money for worked really hard to get, so they think other people should be subjected to it whether they like it or not.
I agree with you op, the wait times specially for the jp are horrible since a lot of players are in there farming it compares to the other 2. A few attempts is all it should take to get in, not 10 minutes of constantly entering only to be rejected by it being “full” Personally i find ever since they moved this stuff to divinty’s is when it’s gotten bad. Never had this issue when it was first in LA.
As for the wisps, i say go for it. I have no problem doing the jp on my giant norn, a few tries and i’ll have it finished. So making others a wisp doesnt bother me but i know it would help a lot of others and don’t really see a negative to doing it. The only time i fail my jumps is from the invisible boxes around snowflakes. I can make the same jump from same spot 80% of the time, but there are those odd times my giant norn feet clip the invisble box and prevent me from making it. I don’t let it get to me and just try again. So im all for them making it easier with wisps if it helps someone else. Afterall if i wanted a jp challenge i’d go do an actual jp not a festival one
The cool thing to do this year is targeting people I guess. Didn’t know that was possible since we all seem to be enemies. Can this be removed at least?

I discovered they are not actually! I was in the Winter Wonderland instance yesterday when the timer ran out. Instead of resetting I got the message saying ‘the instance you are trying to join is full.’ I waited about 30 seconds and it stayed on the time out pause. I exited WW and reentered, thinking I’d join one with 29 minutes or so left, but where I was put had 18 minutes left.
Side note (not directed at you) with that, why is it telling me it’s full when the instance is supposed to reset? Half the people who were in there with me disappeared, so either they were reset or they left at that moment. Is this some sort of bug or unfortunate timing with new people joining? This has happened twice so far
Hmm. I don’t want to give up my broken instance to test that out further. I have no idea if this is true, but it feels like if too many people try and join one instance it doesn’t let any of them join the open spot and waits for a single person who’s not trying to join at the same time. No matter what’s the case make us into wisps, remove the ability to join at 2 minutes, and we have no reason to be able to see what someone is targeting.
