Woot!!

Thank you!
I am excited about being able to clear up a bunch of inventory space with skill point scrolls, bandit crests, and geodes
Also the skill point conversion system looks very promising as well.
However, the article didn’t exactly say, but I am assuming that “Spirit Shards” are account wide?
Either way I am looking forward to it
I was wondering if pristine fractal relics will now be in the wallet can you still click on them to give 15 fractal relics – I have been doing this to get some quick 20 slot fractal boxes!
Blade Shards at refined mats not currency.
Anet – please look: http://swalsh81.github.io/gw2improvedwallet/
As you now take a few items into the redesigned wallet, how about you also look at the following items:
Historical: (just like you’ve got historical achievements, add category historical currencies so that people don’t need to hog bank space in the event of an event (sic) returning someday… SAB anyone? :P)
Any info if blade shards will be in wallet too?
Wh-what the…
I have 4 Blade Shards and keep them in my bank near the other rare items I have. I don’t even know where I got them from.
But you have….1, 2, 3,…6,178 of them o.O

Home instance node farming perhaps

And rare drop from the watchwork pick. I wish I hadn’t thrown piles of them out before, since I’m ready to make the 4-blade backpack. Bah. :P
But yes, my wallet is ready.
I agree that there are several more things that I would like to see added to the wallet with the upcoming change. However, there are a lot of things that people are asking to be in the wallet that are not currencies, and thus do not belong there.
Blade shards are not a currancy. They are a material and belong in the materials tab, not in the wallet.
Lockpicks and bandit keys are not a currency, they are items. They do not belong in the wallet either.
Continue coins, gauntlet tickets, baubles, bauble bubbles, black lion tickets, blt scraps, festival tokens , etc are all currencies, and as such, do belong in the wallet.
Pact Victory Tokens have been phased out, and as such no longer belong in the wallet. People should use them and get them out of their inventory.
Commendations, Fortune Scraps, and Vouchers it depends on if those will be coming back or not. We need clarification from Anet regarding if they will be usable again in the future, if we will be able to obtain more of them, or if they are just dust collectors at this point. Then we can decide if they belong in the wallet.
I don’t see why event items should be in the wallet.
I don’t see why event items should be in the wallet.
I agree. It just makes the wallet that much more cluttered.
Event items are temporary, and should be treated as such.
My biggest thing about the event items are having “odd” amounts. Not having enough to use them and be rid of them, and not willing to destroy them, because “There might be a need for them next year!” But thats more of a personal problem than anything….

Good stuff, hopefully the new wallet will look a bit like this and be scalable for future wallet extensions.
As for wallet keeping other than currencies, it’s only an issue if you let it be an issue for you. Afaik blade shards aren’t in the bank collection yet, and there are many of the suggested items that while not being currency per se are used in a currency-like manner. Whether content where it is used will return or not is irrelevant, the wallet should be expanded to contain these to lighten the load on inventories.

As you now take a few items into the redesigned wallet, how about you also look at the following items:
- Black Lion Ticket Scraps (Remove double-click feature, you already have the tab at BL Weaponsmith vendor to buy a Ticket for 10 scraps… because why would you need to double-click 10 scraps unless you’re at the vendor to use the ticket anyway??)
- Black Lion Tickets
- Lockpicks (Zephyrite, Bandit Keys, e.g.)
- Pact Victory Tokens
Historical: (just like you’ve got historical achievements, add category historical currencies so that people don’t need to hog bank space in the event of an event (sic) returning someday… SAB anyone? :P)
- Queens Gauntlet Tickets
- Baubles (maybe not as these get traded in for the Bauble Bubbles, and you have a limit of one stack while in SAB)
- Bauble Bubbles
- Continue Coins
- Captain’s Council Commendations
- Fortune Scraps
- Golden Fortune Scraps
- Race Track Vouchers
- Blade Shards
Yes please. a historical and/or seasonal section would be really nice to have as well.
I am extremely happy that they’re redesigning the wallet so that they can add new stuff more easily. <3
@Behellagh, LanfearShadowflame
I agree, but if Blade Shards are a material and belong in the materials tab, we should be able to deposit them along with other materials. Currently we can not do that. Whatever they are I think bag should not be only place we can keep them…
@Atlas Tsahalla
Most of them I got from Living Story Season 1 events. Like this ones:

We can’t currently deposit them because they don’t have a spot in the materials tab. If they did, that would likely change.
All of the collect things should go to the wallet

No, currencies should go in the wallet. I hope they add the historical ones there too.
Collectables (foxfire clusters, blade shards, etc.) should have a place in our crafting material storage.

Exactly.
So skill points are different from skills shards? So it is better I start using the skill points to unlock the skills I haven’t unlock?

No no no no no no no no no no!
Skill points are currently a) tokens for skill unlocks and b) currency for the mystic forge.
When the change comes, there won’t be skill points. There will be Hero Points to unlock skills and traits, and spirit shards to buy things at the forge.
Hero Points will come from your level combined with how many skill challenges you have done in the world. Spirit shards will come from skill points banked in excess of that, and from your scrolls.
Any scrolls you use buying skills now will be lost resources you could have had, because all your skills are getting reset to let you buy the new skills from the new system, using your Hero Points.
So skill points are different from skills shards? So it is better I start using the skill points to unlock the skills I haven’t unlock?
a bit off topic about the wallet, but no I wouldn’t unless you’re just wanting to use a skill right now. Skills & Traits are going to be reset with the new system and you’ll unlock them differentlyish. You’ll get hero points based on your character’s level and how many of the skill challenges your character has done. You’ll use those hero points to unlock progression on skill/trait tracks (which gives you your skills & traits). Skill points earned from scrolls and leveling beyond 80 are being converted to skill shards. Everyone is going to be starting fresh with the unlocks when we get that update.

It sounds like they are getting rid of Pristine Relics, and converting them to just Fractal Relics.
“We’ve added more currencies to the wallet! When you log in after the update, the following items will be converted to currencies and stored in your wallet:
•Pristine Fractal Relics
•WvW Tournament Claim Tickets
•Geodes
•Bandit Crests
These items will be automatically converted to the new versions of the currencies when the character holding them logs in, so be sure to check each of your characters’ inventories.”
Which means they will probably remove the Pristine Fractal price and convert it to the Fractal Relic equivalent.

I disagree. When they say “new versions of the currency” they mean the version that goes into the wallet.
Unless they plan to rework the Fractal daily reward system. Which I extremely doubt before HoT hits, if at all.

There was an additional note added that I read, probably specific to Pristine Fractal Relics. Something along the lines of “use functions will be available on the right side of the interface.” So I think Pristine will still be clickable in some fashion to turn into Fractal Relics.

I assume they’re just referring to the item version that you can have in your inventory which will be converted into the version that exists only in the wallet similar to badges of honor and dungeon tokens.
I don’t see why event items should be in the wallet.

If event items will never make a reappearance they should be patched to show as junk
that alone would solve issues

omfg…..
which means that if one of my character is level up purely by tomes and skill scrolls, not done any world exploration, it will be freaking skill-less??
Nope, SkyShroud. It means it will not be 100% skilled. Just being level 80 is “enough for several builds” per the devs. Check the skill calculators on Dulfy’s site to decide which ones you want most (bearing in mind the current values are possibly not the final ones) and then you can spend your points just on those. You get 400 points from being 80. You just need 65 skill challenges done to max out everything but Elite, and Elite isn’t coming until HoT so there’s still time.
So skill points are different from skills shards? So it is better I start using the skill points to unlock the skills I haven’t unlock?

No, a L80 character (having done no Skill Challenges at all) will have 7/8ths of all Hero Points needed to unlock everything. Thus, said character will be able to create several builds. If that character wants to unlock every single skill and trait, the character can go out and do all Hero Challenges in the 5 starter zones, plus a few in the neighboring zones, for a total of 65.
You can think of it as something-to-do while waiting for HoT, or….
Good luck.
