Want ANET answers about Guild V Guild Battles
I know I know, stop living in the past. It seems the two biggest arguments to this are “sPVP is GB” and the infamous “WvW is for that…” Now for the first Argument, SPVP for tourney is random and not always vs guilds as much as teams of 5. Although some pride can be taken, you’re not repping a guild or building points for your guild on a ladder of some sort, or playing top teams of top guilds, so I do not accept the SPVP is GvG, as far as challenging a guild you could go to a custom arena but we all know it is not the same, although that is still possible a conquest map is not a guild BATTLE. I hardly feel like I even need to mention the second argument but since it has come up a lot, WvWvW is mass zergs fighting not a set up fight between guilds, also obviously it is guilds from other servers. I love WvWvW for what it is and would never take it out but it is not GvG. Now two quotes that upset most people…
“The question was asked about the lack of GvG. Jon Peters said, “ if players wanted GvG they should go play the original Guildwars, as Guildwars2 is meant to be a new game.” [and yea Jon, on the off chance you read this I still have the screen shot saved if you try to deny these assertions].”

I believe there is Guild Battles but you are looking in the wrong area. I said it before there old GvG is what the WvWvW is. No it is not the same but is similar in many aspects.

Drops Mic Exit Stage Left
Well, honestly, it feels like ArenaNet is trying to cut every connection this game had to original Guild Wars.
They are barely giving Guild Wars 2 any core features original Guild Wars had, and they are making it more and more similar to a traditional MMO.
For what its worth as a new player to GW2.I support your suggestion.

- That’s because GW2 is korean style MMO, which is quite different from MTG style team co-op game the first Guild Wars was. They chose to call it “Guild Wars 2” because the name has brand value and a lot of the customers bought the game thinking it would be similar to Guild Wars.

Brand value, and not to mention that they are telling stories within the same universe as the first game.
I think they’ve made it pretty clear over the last couple years that they aren’t going to produce any specifically designed “GvG mode.” I do believe the Obsidian Sanctum arena is going to be closest players get.
I suspect the reason for that is concern about win-trading (that was an issue in the first Guild Wars), and that the mechanic that allows you to be in 5 different guilds would make it kitten near impossible to prove shady dealings in a structured, reward-based, ranked, and supported game mode.
That’s what I think it boils down to; does the general sentiment of their player base like the convenience of being in multiple guilds or a genuine GvG more… and as of this moment, Arena.net is siding with the former.
Guild Wars 1 in Guild Wars 2 graphics would’ve been enough for me to buy it really.
Some reason:
- Guild Halls
- Guild Capes
- Alliance Battles
- HoH
- REAL community
- Luxon/Kurzick, and every single form of PvP those brought with them
- FACTIONS / NIGHTFALL

what game are you playing? guild wars 2 is nothing like a Korean MMO.Korean mmo takes you months to hit max level gw2 you hit max level within 7 days. Korean mmo is all about the grind and 100% gear based gw2 gear is just for looks
