With the upcoming wardrobe feature (which I’m absolutely excited for), I’ve been wondering if it’ll take into account armor skins we have previously purchased, but no longer have on our characters (example: first gemstore skin I purchased was during summer, the Medium Aetherblade armor, which I later overwrote with Magitech, and then finally, the Asura t2 cultural), although I’m pretty much expecting the answer to be “No”. Can anyone give me any input on this?

per the Knowledge Base:

‘If any of your characters are wearing or own any piece of an armor set (such as the Profane armor set or the Magitech armor set), all of the remaining pieces will be unlocked in your Wardrobe in addition to any pieces currently on your character or in your inventory. Any newly purchased armor sets will need to be taken from the in-game delivery mail and the bundle then will need to be used in order to unlock the full armor set. Please note that skins or partials skins that you previously purchased but which you no longer possess will not be unlocked on your account. The Guild Wars 2 Support Team cannot unlock skins that fall into this category.’

also:

‘The skins for both of the items used in the most recent transmutation of your gear will be unlocked in your Wardrobe in this situation. This means that you will have skins representing your most recent stats and appearance choices for each transmuted item.’

They have said when you log on with a character, that character’s armor set will be added to the wardrobe. Most likely implying that anything that was previously purchased and equiped that you have since overwritten with a different set of armor will be lost.

Before people start complaining that they ‘want’ what was already purchased/earned. Understand that you knowingly overwrote the armor with a different look. You also were never promised this wardrobe nor did you know about it before this announcement. This is a great system that you now have going forward to be able to log your items in the wardrobe for future use. Things change, please do not start posting about how you are entitled to receive the look because at somepoint in time you had the look, and since you had it then you deserve it now. This is not the case, that look was lost when you decided to overwrite it with a different look.

I for one am happy that I will now be able to log all future items I equip in the wardrobe.

Also to note it looks like you will actually have to equip it to log it, that way someone couldn’t buy a legendary, log the item in the wardrobe then sell the item on the TP.

If you currently have items that have been transmuted, you will unlock the appearance for both the first item used for stats and the last item used for appearance in your final transmuted item. This means that if you have only transmuted a given item once (for example, if you’ve used a single Transmutation Stone to combine the appearance of Dawn with the stats of another greatsword) you’ll unlock the skins for both items in that transmutation.

Not sure if it goes any further than the last item, but that’s all we know at the moment. So if you transmuted an item once, you get both skins. Not sure what happens if you have transmuted an item multiple times.
