is anybody else in this same boat or is just me? because i see no reason to not have mad memoires in my wardrobe

i did the event and got the item since 2012, first mad memoires then the complete edition, when ascended were implemented i made a backpiece item and transmuted the complete edition

I never saw my wardrobe when i was playing by then, i stopped playing like 2 years ago i didnt know the game was for free, i pre-purchased back then

Now i came back probably 1 week ago just seeing what is new and stuff, so i checked my wardrobe and i see the system isnt retroactive or i would have so much skins by now

but in the FAQ, it says items which were upgraded and transmuted, will be in your wardrobe if you still have the item in your inventory

example
you buy a precursor, make the legendary, then transmuted into lets say ascalon staff
according to the FAQ you will have in your wardrobe, the precursor, the legendary and ascalon staff skin as long the final remains in your inventory after the wardrobe were implemented

which is the exactly same thing with my backpiece but i dont have the base item (which is mad memoires) in my wardrobe skin, even when i upgraded it, had it, participated in the event FROM 2012, etc

is anyone like me, in the same boat? and with this i am talking to who ever did the event and had the complete edition when the wardrobe system got implemented

because in my eyes and in my book and in their book…i should have that item, and this applies to any other items in the same boat

ps: already send a ticked 1-2 days ago
ps2: sorry for typing much

That was actually covered ages.

The “unlock all the previous step” thing only applies to processes that requires destroying the item from the previous step. When a legendary is created the precursor is consumed.

In the case of Mad Memories that was not the case. When you got the complete edition you still kept the original as well.

Regardless of the reasons, you can try asking Support to see if they can unlock it for you (or send you a copy of the original, which would allow it to be unlocked).

Various people have had various experiences with that. Given that Support has new tools, it might be easier for them to do this.

i dont agree because is basically the same thing, you need to give up an item for the next one, they are called lesser versions, doenst matter how or what you do, mystic forge or npc exchange, you are giving up the lesser item for the upgraded version

and if it that was the case is even more for sure i should have the skin, because then i do have it but with another name and another looks

in the end that item, is in my inventory, wasnt deleted or salvaged

Correct, plenty of people had just the one skin, including myself — I deleted the other because I simply didn’t have room to save skins that I hadn’t used in over a year. I haven’t followed up on it because, well, I expect it might be another 10 years before I’d bother using it. Still, I’d be happier to have it in the wardrobe, for completion’s sake.

That was NOT the case with that backpack. There was no exchange of items involved.
