Do you think Anet should release new craft-able legendary weapons or just sell weapon skins with particle effects on the gem store?

Of course new craftabtle legendaries. Everything gemstore related is bad in my opinion. Or it will only feel more and more like pay2win.
If Anet does want to do more money, they should release new campaigns or big payable DLCs with new content (new armor, weapons, maps etc.) instead of releasing everything on the kitten gemstore.

And make the game even more a grinding mess. Good idea.

I didnt say they should make those new legendaries even more grindable.
So you wanna have everything on the gemstore, and grindingthe gold for it instead? Wow, such a better idea. If u want to buy everything, for what reason do you even play?

With ascended equipments becoming more accessible to the average player, what’s the point of making more legendary skins? The only thing it offers is the stat change, and that’s already available with the current set.. Imho, new ones would just seem redundant, particularly when the recent weapon skins are pretty decent themselves.

I for one think they should just sell more expensive weapon skins that have auras or footprints and abandon the current system of acquiring legendaries for future weapons.

Legendary skins in gemshop? Worst idea ever.

Not legendary skins per se, just not making any more legendary versions of the current weapons we have that require the same method of crafting and instead focusing on skins from black lion chests that have as much particle effects.

If they do introduce new weapon types, then sure, make legendary versions of them as well (just so the option of being able to change stats is available), but for now, I feel like the ones we have are sufficient.

I wont buy any skins from gem shop. It doesnt feel like I earned them if I use gems for them.

What exactly is the difference between paying for DLC that has skins, and paying for skins in the Gem Store?

The only thing I can think of is that DLC packs would contain a number different skins, but the price for the DLC would make the skins cheaper, per skin?

In which case it is the price of the skins that is the issue, and not the way they are delivered?

This is pretty ignorant.
What is the difference? Buying an item with gold or buying gems with gold to buy an item.

And if this makes you happy, people can convert their gems to gold paid with rl money too, so you are never sure if that player farmed a few hundered hours, or used their real money to buy anything ingame.

I wont argue about this. Buying skins with gems does not feel like earning them for me. If some casuals want to do that, fine. But I wont. If they want my money they will have to sell something more substantial than skins which should be earnable ingame.
And no trading gold for gems is not a valid option to me. It doesnt make it feel better one bit.

With DLC I meant bigger content updates, with new maps, sets and weapons. Like the extra mission pack in GW1. Smaller than a whole campaign, but enough to pay for, with new skins which are accessible with ingame currencies.

Gee…. another thread that turns into gemstore bashing.

I’d rather have MF recipes that allow us to give ascended weapons particle effects, or otherwise alter their “look” as I’m already getting bored of how the ascended GS looks, let alone other weapons.

Nobody wants to have the current skins we have for legendary sold on the gem store.. I’m saying i think it’s redundant to have another set of legendary skins for existing weapons (like a red Bolt or something) that would have to be crafted with different mats introduced since we can already craft the ones that allow us to change stats. I’m saying anet should just give us skins that have particle effects instead of prec+gifts requirements that in the end, is only good for the skin.

If you payed attention to my sentence, you would have noticed that I said the GAME would be even more a grinding mess. Because more Legendaries → more grind to get them. Also, I NEVER let know that everything should be on the gemstore. Especially since the only things I bought there were Transmut Crystals and character slots. But it’s fine, keep assuming stuff on people for no reason, it’s funny.

The gem store is meant for convenience and cosmetic items. Since selling new maps would only split the player base, they’re far more likely to sell legendary skins. People wouldn’t think of them as legendaries however, unless ArenaNet specifically marketed them as such, because they would be just another skin. They probably will sell glow effects and special effect dyes one day. They might even sell skin unlock packs like they sold skill packs in Gw1.

New legendaries are already coming, and they’ll probably be added before precursor crafting ever happens. I expect them to be obtained using a new method compared to the originals, but you can only guess for now.

Buying skins with gems does not feel like earning them for me.

What about cultural T3? With a system that support gold to gems and gems to gold, there is no difference. Only items unlocked behind actual achievements have been earned, and there’s not a lot of those. Even dungeon runs can be bought.

If they do add new legendaries for existing weapons, maybe they should have another perk, like allowing for dyeable weapons instead of changing stats. :/ So they can have some synergy with the old ones and a purpose for the new wardrobe system?
