I’ve seen one wasting his Personal Golem Banker during the headstart period of Guild Wars 2. And just recently I’ve seen 2 wasting their Personal Golem Banker, probably thinking it’s a permanent service. Please give newbies a warning that the Personal Golem Banker should not be used “wastefully” (as they could use it better one day when they are of higher level, and have explored and known more about the game), and warn them that this is a timed service.

And it’s only 2 weeks. So whenever you start it you only have 2 weeks to get any use of it. That’s really not long enough to be concerned about it. How often do you need to access your bank while out somewhere anyway? If you are doing PvE, there is WvW with its access to the bank and crafting tables and a number of maps have a crafting area.

It would probably be more useful if it had 14 uses rather than 14 days.

May key farmers use them like this, would appear to be new players, but they know what they are doing.

I am wondering how OP knows they are new players. Level won’t tell you much. The only time I have used my Personal Golem is on my throwaway characters. I’ve saved all the others, and no time ever seems good to start its countdown once you have leveled up.

I agree that they’re most likely key farmers, or otherwise playing a temporary character. If you know you’re only going to get up to level 10 (or otherwise not going to keep the character for long) it makes sense to use the golem early on because you don’t need to worry about needing it later.

I used my main characters golem quite early on, when I first got beyond the starter map (and this was back when they only lasted 5 days). Shortly afterwards I felt like I’d wasted it and decided to save all my others until later. But now I’m starting to think that was the best time to use it. I’ve never felt like it’s the ‘right’ time to use the others.

For one thing higher level characters are more likely to have larger bags, which means you don’t need to go to the bank as often. I also find I skip between maps much more often on higher level characters (especially once they reach level 80) so an extra loading screen or two to visit the bank isn’t a big deal, compared to a lower level character who could stay on one map for hours – until they’ve levelled up enough for the next one.

In my case I’ve also got a personal guild bank which is where I keep things like extra crafting materials and food, often the things I’m most likely to need to deposit/collect. So I have to either spend commendations on the guild bank access item or put them in the bank and log into a different character to transfer them and at that point I may as well have done it all on one character.
