Yesterday there was a post about the economy and how they created new mystic forge recipes to help take items out of the economy.

These recipes are a scam. After 5 attempt in every single case the items I received from the mystic forge were valued less then JUST the glob of ectoplasm. Not even considering the price of the other mats.

Just figured i’d save other people from wasting their money.

It does state it has a chance. That’s gambling for you. My friend salvaged an 80 rare and got 3 globs, I did one and got 0. We would have much different opinions on the value of salvaging 80 rares if we went off that.

For those interested in the value of the potential results.. I tried it once for straight up curiosity/less wooden dowels clogging up my bank. I got a junk item that sold for 10s and a form tonic.

I chatted with someone who tried it, and they got a ‘use the forge from anywhere’ item. If you happen to have globs sitting around without a plan for them, great. Not likely to be worth buying one much, though.

The Mystic Forge is gambling aside from a few guaranteed recipes.
It makes most most people poor while a select few get lucky.

Same with Unidentified Dyes to a lesser extent.
People love them because they all think “I’m gonna get Abyssal and make profit!”

There’s no scam, but it’s definitely gambling.
And you know what happens to most people who gamble too much!
Definitely watch out that you don’t overdo it.

Ehh I got a permanent tonic and a permanent mystuc forge for about 1 g loss. satisfied customer xD.

My tonic was non-perminant, alas. Just 3 of something, lol. Good to hear there is something somewhat specy from it, though.

Where can i find the new mystic forge recipes?

You can find them by reading the News link when you open the game launcher. Two items are setting in the forge on the picture. Everything you can combine with them is sitting in the persons inventory.
