In the new revenant reveal of the ventari specialization it says that revenant is the first profession to get the melee staff. That implies that there will be others who also get a melee staff…

No, it implies that they’re the first. Nothing about it implies someone else would get melee Staff.

It is possible for ranger since they already have good long and mid range options.
Warriors will most definitely get something else, likely to be offhand pistol or dagger.

Since Revenant doesn’t come out until HoT, and neither do Elite Specs, I don’t see how Rev could be “first” if several get it simultaneously. Ergo if other professions do get melee staff it won’t be until a second Elite Spec for that profession debuts some time after HoT launch.
