Warrior nerf?
The Omnonberry Pie/Ghosts now no longer give you 380health unlimited times for each crit
( 66% Chance to gain health on Crit )
They now have a cooldown so rather then getting like 10,000 Health from the food buff in a 4 second hundred blades attack on a big mob! You will get 360 to 720 health.
BIG CHANGE!!
This food buff was one the the best thing for DPS warriors to help them stay alive… you could pretty much sustain your health while killing massive mobs! Not no more!

This is indeed sad, i used these types of food alot.
Did they add a cooldown to all food or did they only nerf the omnomberrie level foods, as in can i use the next grade down and will it still work as usual?

never needed to use the food to begin with.
Found it pretty funny so many zerk warriors felt that they were entitled to have good sustained healing. With the massive damage they do, it should be hard to stay alive.
It wasn’t even targeted just at warriors. For anybody that had access to a decent crit chance, or even no precision at all but good fury uptime, the food was about 20x better than anything else available in the game.
I was actually commenting hours before the patch on how it needed to be nerfed. One of the few good things to come from this patch.
Now zerkers will have to think! Guardians won’t get booted because their dps isn’t good enough! The horror!
ALL food that had a chance to do “something” from a crit now has an internal cooldown.. my guess its 1-2 seconds before it triggers again.
It would be good to know exactly what the cooldown is, does it display this in the food description now?
If not thats pretty sad but i guess not surprising for anet.
Lol you guys make it seem like classes were based on that food.
Really? The food wasn’t required for anything, it just led to a few exploits where you would heal for crazy amounts in a few seconds.
It still heals 344hp/s for me, that’s ok.

Those foods are now nothing special .. but i guess all runes and Sigels had the cooldowns so they are just doing what they should have done from the start.
does this apply to all foods or just the ones that give health?
Wait a min i just had a thought.
They really messed this up, there are foods that give you health per second, if they have now nerfed the health on crit foods to only activate once a second then why not just remove them entirely because now the foods that give health per second(with no conditions like only on critical) are doing the same thing only better because its every second no matter what.

They have ONLY! changed the foods that give you “something” each time you cause crit damage!
So 33% chance to cause might on crit… now has a cooldown of 1 second
40% chance on crit to cause bleeding now has a cooldown of 1 second
gain health every second .. has not changed and its not effected..because it doesnt have anything to do with activating when you crit… get it?
You know, you don’t even need food right ?

im not saying i rely(ed) on it i just used them when we didnt have a guardian or elementalist in our dungeon parties to help my survival.
I dont use them for everyday orr farming or anything.
Im sorry but I must have missed something? There seems to be some people here…complaining… that a food item which normally creates an overpowered warrior has been nerfed and there are some saying in other threads that theyve quit because of it?
My main is a Warrior. I welcome this change because any food item that single handedly keeps a character alive is OP. It shouldnt be in the game. I wear Knights armour for dungeons and always wondered how other warriors could survive in berserker gear. I didnt realise that it was the food doing it, I just assumed that it was due to the skill of the player.
Nerfing the food gives credibility back to our class so stop complaining and get on with becoming a better player. Wearing Knights gear is often seen as a handicap for Warriors…maybe this food change will open peoples eyes a little.

And I’m saying i haven’t touched them at all. Not for dungeons, WvW, or Fractals. They aren’t even remotely needed.
It gave them sustain. Other classes already had more sustain. Other classes also have tricks and class mechanics or evades and escapes or support. Some have all of those.
Credibility won’t help you get through a dungeon when the squishy classes are better at sustain.
Warrior description says we are supposed to be able to eat through damage. It doesn’t happen. Why do you think so many zerker warriors existed? You play on the strengths of your class and the -only- strength we had was damage. Good luck actually doing the damage without going down. Even before the patch I picked up zerker warriors from the ground alot. I don’t think they actually ended up doing much more damage than me because I never stopped swinging my sword except to dodge.
Knights gear is no longer viable, Thereon. It was a great combination when food allowed us to have sustain and tank and provide some support. Even with the toughness you will have no sustain. Our class has NO sustain. Look at other classes and be honest with yourself, don’t you see it?
ANet won’t add sustain to warrior. Our weakness wasn’t supposed to be sustain, it was supposed to be conditions. It wasn’t supposed to be lack of support, it was supposed to be conditions. Look at the bloody description! ANet doesn’t care.
We are weak in pvp, and now weak in pve too. If you don’t understand that, I’m simply amazed. Really, you should be more angry than the zerker because, like me, you are in Knights. We are now useless. There are no builds that provide enough power or sustain with knights that don’t use life stealing.
Meanwhile, all ACTUAL OP builds people are slowly learning about as the new meta have been buffed.
I am tired of this forum, its like that movie.. the one where the guy comes from the future and tells everyone there will be an accident and it happens anyway because noone listens. Every time I tell people about this kind of stuff in advance, it is ignored because people choose to believe what they want to believe.
Its not a question on whether you -can- survive or you -can- use a warrior and do dungeons. The issue is that some other builds and classes can do things much… much easier on a large variety of builds while not sacrificing nearly as much as we do. Its easy mode on those builds, and those builds are quickly becoming meta as people discover them.
Fact: If you use warrior which is pure stats more or less, you have less potential than on the classes with dozens of tricks. Same skill level, different results. Bogus.
Im starting to figure this out, this is why im leveling a thief and a guardian now.
They’ll nerf them too in some way. They’ll continue to do things that make your progress futile. I’d considered leveling those but I really don’t feel they will ever fix warrior and the tree is rotten to the roots.
I don’t want to switch to a new class just to be useful. Noone should have to. Why should we play something that is so broken at its roots? Doesn’t it sicken you a little?
Why take part in something like that?Thats why I quit. Some devs actually balance their games.. Hopefully some of the future competition to gw2 will be made by these devs. I’ll miss asura though, really I will.
I do agree, i chose a warrior based on the in game description having not talked to anyone who had played when i made my first character, which is my charr warrior.
And i agree that the in game desciption does not happen in reality, and the only viable warrior build is very DPS based, beserker is really the only option.
I’ve tried knights geat, ive tried clerics gear, ive tried about 5-7 different sets of armor but the bottom line is the warrior doesnt have the skills to be a tank its really ment to do nothing but damage as fast as possible.
If you try and run anything but beserker gear on your warrior you will quickly find yourself doing as low of DPS as a guardian but without all the skills to stay alive like the guardian has.
This is why i started a guardian if you are going to drop DPS to stay alive you might as well have the skillset to help you and your party with that. Which is what the guardian has and the warrior lacks.
