Do you like picking up banners that replace your weapon skills in the middle of open world boss fights?
Use AoE-loot and bind it to another key than F (personally I use Shift+F).

Meh…it happens. I have learned to look before pressing my interaction key.
Hasn’t happened to me since I put AOE loot on a different key than interact. Check your options to do the same.
Loot always take priority over picking up banners.

Just bind AoE loot to Shift+Interact (F default) and never pick up any object while you’re looting again. It’s literally a self-imposed problem ever since AoE looting was incorporated.

It would still be nice not “forcing” the Warrior to pick up their banner.
If the Warrior doesn’t want to pick it up and we had your way – what would we do now? Beg for him to pick it up?
There are alternate suggentions/workarounds on your “issue” – use them.
If banners were removed for this reason, would not all conjured weapons and rezzing have to be removed, as well? Or anything else inter-actable that might appear in the heat of battle?
Can’t tell you how many times I’ve done this. It is quite irritating but the suggestions here are pretty useful!
I don’t mind picking up the odd banner because the bonuses these banners give are awesome. more critchance and 15% more damage on the precision banner, more defense, more damage. They make the events go by faster.
Loot should just auto-arrive in inventory (with option to turn that off)

I agree with Young Somalia.
First, what if a warrior puts down 2+ banners? If you’re traveling somewhere, you can’t pick up both of them.
Second, when I’m on my mesmer, I really like banners because they have a swiftness buff as well as a charge.
There would probably be way more game balance issues with eliminating the ability to pick up a warrior’s banner than the very slight inconvenience of training yourself to hit a new key combo to aoe loot. It would be like saying “I hate having to stop at crosswalks, they make my drive slower and more inconvenient! We should just abolish all of them.”
I just love to put some (1 or 2) banner middle of battle so people can’t loot or do res.

you’ll also find you won’t get portal trolled while looting a heap of dead stuff too
Bind AoE loot to “F” and then bind interact to “Shift-F.” I did this a long time ago because I constantly spam “F” for loot and rarely have to use interact in comparison.
The loot system in this game is definitely not perfect (I would prefer a true automatic loot option); however, Anet has provided a reasonable solution to your problem. Stop blaming the poor Warriors, they’re only trying to help! :P
Warriors need a nerf anyways… They are a static and horribly designed class that Anet has overly buffed just to make them seem like they are balanced.
They are nothing like a warrior class should be; they are a class designed on the basis of “doing damage” rather than an actual combat style. All brawn and no brains seems to be Anets design philosophy for warriors.
This is also why banners are so annoying; since the warrior isn’t supposed to really think about what they are doing and just focus on damaging the opponent in front of them, they don’t have time to think about others in their group having difficulty interacting with other objects or players.
Sure, some of us think ahead and look at what we are interacting with before we press the button or assign loot/etc. to some other keybind, but many players play warriors and thus don’t have time to think of anything or anyone else except doing as much damage as possible to the opponent in front of them. Since so many players play warriors now because of how OP they are in dungeons (since most don’t require any thinking at all and just dps everything down; because anet refuses to have any amount of variety in their dungeons other than warrior, and sometimes guardian, oriented content…) we now have many players that don’t think while they are fighting in dungeons and thus the number of players that complain about warrior banners being in the way increases in parallel to the number of warriors.

I understand that it can be annoying to accidentally pick a banner up, but come on, it’s not like it only helps whoever puts it down. Banners help ANYONE by them and that buff can’t be stolen.
I’ve accidentally picked up banners MANY times before, but you know what I do? swig it around a couple times and put it down. Yes, it’s annoying, yes, it may almost get you killed, still a boost to you and those around you.

In the hopes that the right answer wins over the funny answer and is heard: Bind AoE loot to a different key than Interact—problem solved. This actually did bother me for months but that is now a distant memory. And, I give credit to Anet for providing an elegant solution. I can now run through loot, portals, NPC’s, and banners and just get the loot.
