Was there raiding in gw1? And will there be raiding in gw2?
Nope, hardest GW1 content has always been single party dungeons and it seems it’s going to be the same way here.
Rest assured they can make those extremely hard if they decide to.
Hard Mode / hard content will come at some point as usual.
They changed the current dungeon to easy because a large portion of the players complained the difficulty.
Before that question is answered one must first define “raid”, as it changes from game to game, person to person. If you’re talking about soul-crushingly difficult missions, then yes, Guild Wars 1 had plenty of these. Most, however, came long after release. Dungeons like Sorrow’s Furnace, the Fissure of Woe, the Underworld, and the various ones in the Realm of Torment (they certainly would live up to the name for an unprepared team) all provided significant challenges, and equally great rewards for players who wanted a challenge. I have no doubt that they will include similar challenges somewhere down the line.

All entirely subjective, Avatar.

gw2 as it is wont last “that long”.
everybody knows that, and im just level 56.
Apparently, I missed the memo. In fact, I’d say everyone I played with seems to have missed it.
Sure, they complain about x or y sometimes and so do I, but I and they still enjoy and play the game. So, I really don’t see where you got the impression “this won’t last long”.
The game has a few faults, noone is denying that, but since WoW, it’s been clearly heaps and bounds ahead of anything else released. Then again Rift and Secret World were kind of fun, but still below GW2 in my opinion.

Raiding for the next “tier gear” I don’t think they will ever do that. GW1 had no such thing. Dungeons w/ more than 5 players they might do that. GW1 had a few missions w/ 16 and 12 players max over the normal 8. Also hard mode. I hope they implement something like that just like GW1.
Well, lets not forget Mallyx the Unyielding!
Or what about Urgoz and his Luxon counterpart?!
There will be something similar coming up in GW2’s future, im sure

true.
i think corrections are possible.
mainly, as it is now “in my opinion”;
-camera is dfficult to nail. especially in dungeons, when you start going near walls or cloistered area etc. the camera zoom in-out so badly, making it almost impossible to control your moves.
-pvp with pugs; defend the spot type of game isnt intuitive.
it requires more communication.
but gw2 being fast and furious, nobody talks.
i think a simple 5vs5 or catch the flag or whatelse could be better.
as it is now “sometimes i win, sometimes i lose” i dont feel my efforts have an impact on the result, thus i have a hard time getting into it.
maybe its just me.
In PvP games you raid other players.
Imagine, instead of fighting static scripts you fight against another player trying to out wit you…..just imagine.
smack..Wut?…smack…smack…
pvp mechanic is awesome.
pvp “defend the spot” without headsets ?
…. not casual friendly
