Not sure when this happened but it seems that they were recently updated to include their auras on land as well underwater. Now if only they had footprints. Alternating blood for the spear and water for Frenzy. Make it happen, Anet

Any other water legendary owners (or devs) want to confirm this for me? Hopefully it’s not just a bug.

I hope this is the case. It would make underwater legendaries a viable option for those who want some more subtle legendary particles with their choice of land weapons.

I wish they wouldn’t change existing legendarys at all. They have changed them so much in the past. I only want to get ones that match my look. Then they go changing animations and sounds on something I would have to invest so much time on only to have it not look the way it was when I acquired it.

We just don’t want players to grind in Guild Wars 2. No one enjoys that.

I’m loving UW combat with my guardian so am considering an UW legendary too. Do all of the UW legendaries have effects or is it like their land based cousins – some have great effects some have none?

Why is it a waste? If the stats are almost the same as the exotic versions, what is the reason for not having a underwater legendary?
- Does it make you feel greater if you show off you legendary around the map? It’s a bragging factor?
- For myself, i am finishing my Legendary, and yes it’s the underwater trident. Love the snakes look!

I’m loving UW combat with my guardian so am considering an UW legendary too. Do all of the UW legendaries have effects or is it like their land based cousins – some have great effects some have none?

All three of them have the same aura, the one shown in my screenshot. It has a hazy, almost mist-like quality to it, not to be confused with Howler’s aura which, in my opinion, is more “cloudy.”

As for weapon-specific effects: The spear leaves a bloodtrail as you swim, creates a shark attack animation on crits (though this appears bugged on some professions/skills), and changes projectiles from their normal model to that of a ghost-like shark.

The harpoon gun has a small “school” of fish that swim around the gun itself and you. They can also be seen swimming into the aura in a feeding “Frenzy”-like fashion. It also creates small, blue bubbles that “pop” around you and the gun.

As for the trident, I’m not too sure, as it’s the only one of the three I don’t have. But I’ve heard something happens to it at night.

How did you manage it? or did it just happen and you never managed to replicate it?

I’ve always through the Spear legendary was pretty amazing but unfortunately I wouldn’t be able to summon sharks on land Would be nice if they did something on land.
I love Thief spear skills too, sad I can’t use it on land in general. u.u wtb water expansion.

Not sure if it works but try this:
-Get your underwater legendary equipped.
-Enter combat mode on land (not sure it works while underwater and i’m lazy to test it out), you don’t need to attack a mob, just swing your sword or fire an arrow or whatever.
-Switch your underwater legendary with another underwater weapon while in combat mode (not weapon switch you change it using the menu, meaning the legendary will go inside your inventory).
-Switch that underwater weapon again with the legendary, if it doesn’t work repeat the switch over and over.

By doing this i was able to have Frenzy underwater aura active while not being in combat mode. It also more or less worked on land but you could only see the aura around the parts of my character in contact with water. I guess Frenzy have a restriction unlike the spear.

It’s not my fault if S/P is not popular !!!

Staying on land worked for frenzy, when i entered water afterward the aura showed up when not in combat mode and when i walked on a water spot the aura was dislaying inside the water while i still had my land weapons on.

It’s not my fault if S/P is not popular !!!

I’m on the fence whether I should continue to work for Incinerator or just say f* it and go for Kraitkin instead.

Can anyone confirm that you can (somehow, probably the way Puru described) get an aura for Kraitkin on land when you want to?
