I found the shortcut key to “Wield a weapon” and since it defaults to nothing, I set it.
But it doesn’t work in Wardrobe. Or it actually does work, but it wields the old weapon on the toon standing behind the dialog.
Is there a way to Wield in Wardrobe so we can see the Wielded animation?
Don’t we need that? For example, I’d like to see the flames of a torch before spending the tmute to set it. Any weapon with an animation needs a preview in wardrobe.

Can’t you just click the wielded radial box on the preview?

Forum ate my reply: short version is: Bank Wardrobe tab does give you wielded preview option, right click on the item and select Preview then check “wielded” at lower left. Hero Panel Wardrobe tab does not have a “wielded” option but if you right click the item in inventory you can bring up the Preview panel. The Wardrobe was added after the original Preview panel at launch and not all functions of the latter made it in, so you need to combine them.

Of course, if the preview window would show wielded items they way they are actually held when wielded, that’d be great… I feel it’s worst for Charr with the weapon just placed in the open and relaxed paw, but really any two-handed weapon is poorly showed.

You can. Head to your personal bank, open the Wardrobe tab, find the weapon skin you want to preview and right click the skin in wardrobe. Select “Preview” and it will pop up a separate window called “Equipment Preview”

In the bottom left of this window there are three options with check-boxes next to them. The first (and default) is “Stowed,” but you can also select “Wielded” or “Weapon Only”

This makes me think you’re trying to preview things from the Equipment tab under your Hero panel. It’s not possible to preview actual equipment your character is carrying, at least not in this manner. Head to a personal banker in a city map to see the full wardrobe and all preview options, then search for the skin you’d like to preview and it should come up.

EDIT: I see what you’re referring to now. The Wardrobe tab in the Hero panel is different from the Wardrobe tab at your personal bank. It’s not possible to do a “Wielded” or “Weapon Only” preview from the Wardrobe tab in Hero panel. You need to go to a bank to do that.
