Hi, I’ve played around with alot of builds and skills for engi for 2 years, and would like to mention some minor flaws with some skills, and some improvements i would like for a certain skill or two. (Long post because i’ve thought about this for a while but never posted)
Some of the of the engi blasts skills, when done in a smoke field but hit an enemy, knocks the engi right out of that stealth (as in no stealth): big ol bomb, flameblast, and throw mine. Throw mine is not so important, because I would never run that skill. If you could fix the blasts, there could be better combos and survivability for people who run bombs, and trip kit or double kit builds running bomb and flame kit could become useable.
also, flame vent does not quite pop in your character’s location when cced or pulled, it is where your character was. i’ve tried many times to blind a pry bar and run flame kit over lixir s or toolkit but it’s hard to run it when you can’t utilize the 5th skill defensively(same goes for the smoke bomb subtrait, but that one’s only problem is magnet!)
And now, some minor skill improvement recommendations are for acid bomb, flame vent, and rocket boots. acid bomb lasts for 5 seconds, but honestly, only 2 out of 5 seconds ever hit an enemy. maybe increase the damage to 550 or 600 and make it last for 2 seconds, or to make it work with smoke field, 1 second for 700 or something?
and finally rocket boots. It activates marks and traps, it can be immobbed, slowed, cced, and running it means maybe you’re not using a stun breaker in your build. Could you make it either a stun breaker or grant it immunity to the conditions it cures as well as stability for at least 1 second? both would be ideal, and maybe 1 sec is not long enough!
The last thing I would like to mention, is that other than nade kit, the rest of the offensive kits are very poor at dealing with ranged players(flame and bomb). Another kit would be nice
Maybe an elite kit for 20 seconds too
