Granted, it seems that the playerbase’s eyes are focused on the shinies, as are the skritts, but the mind works in two opposite directions.
- While skritt gets more intelligent the more there are of them within a certain area, players’ intelligence seem to degenerate. A phenomenon called a “zerg” is then formed.

- You know what would be interesting to see?
An army of Skritt fighting the rest of us. We wouldn’t stand a chance against a huge army of well organized skritts.

Seriously though, the new Tequatl fight actually seems to punish zergs and making players use the options available to them. Either that or lose.
- I hope that this will truly seperate the players from the skritt.

Good point. I apologize to the skritt for tarnishing your good name.

Why the hate for skritts? Everyone has their own idea of fun. Mine is simply getting better gear. If the content I need to play to get better gear is interesting, all the better! But it’s not a pre requisite.

Non farmers are some of the most sanctimonious dudes I’ve ever seen. Talk about having a victim and superiority complex at the same time…

Says the guy that was opening threads about how the Queen’s Jubliee farm needs to be closed because you didn’t want to farm there anymore and already got the rewards you wanted.

Haha. I sure hope this one is false.

I don’t really hate skritts. They have some interesting and amusing comments like “Gather ALL the shinies!!!”

- The real problem I have with GW2 is rather that it has the combo fields (a truly underestimated part of the combat system) with which it can provide for some nice teamwork, but people are not using it!
- ANet got rid of the Trinity, which added some coordination and structure to a group and instead they replaced it with… what? I find that playing GW2, no one is really coordinated and/or structured. I’d like for more content that requires (and teaches) the players to use their combo fields and work together with one another.

This zergy content… I mean, it was bad in other games when they had zergs and zerg like content but GW2 gets away with it… for which reason exactly?
- ANet stated that they wanted to change the way that people did MMO’s… and they wanted it to change into this?!? Zergs?!?

C’mon. I mean, I’m a GW1 veteran, I love the world and I like GW2 as much as the next guy, but stating that this is the most that GW2 can possibly offer and that it is the peak of MMO’s is just plain wrong.
- I’m not playing with other players here… I’m just playing next to them.

Can you honestly say that GW2 right now delivers to you the ultimate MMO experience as it looks today?

Yes we are different, intelligence doesn’t rise with the amount of players in a Zerg

Seriously you are right, some non glowing and blinking skins would be nice. My warrior runs around with the shabbiest armor i could find, wooden swords and a toy rifle. No glow, nothing, and i like it

It’s a bit off topic, but yeah, I think that GW2 took on too flashy a gameplay for the GW franchise.
- I think GW1 had a nice thing going on just being itself, where GW2 seems too occupied with trying to impress people with “revolutionary” new gameplay and flashy looks.
And don’t get me wrong, I’m all in for change and a game looking nice, but I think they should look into the core of the GW franchise and mechanics and think on how they can take that to the next level with their new game engine.
- I think that it’s a shame that both look, lore and mechanics-wise, they went in a whole other direction in GW2.

- While I like the dynamic combat and gameplay, I think that GW2 has a long way before it will become what they intended for it to be. But I’m excited to see where they take it.

I had the pleasure of taking on Cathedral of Silence with the the Jade Quarry zerk zerg goons this weekend. Unfortunately, they seemed to feel that giving comrades a rez and controlling the adds was sub-optimal to DPSing the boss.

Real players, you know – those concerned with rezzing folks and taking down the portals went down. They had a looong run back from the nearest uncontested WP, by the time we got there the zerk zergers had been roflstomped by the now uncontrolled add spawning and the event failed.

Personally, I’d rather fight alongside Skritt.

I think the mindset of modern MMO players has devolved.
- In WoW, back in its days, I met so many interesting players, who’d end up becoming very good friends.

Today I don’t find that to be an aspect of the game, or any other MMO for that matter. I always hear the “Lol, another player in the Open World” and it saddens me, to tell you the truth.
- As the new SAB hit, all the players who aren’t very interested in it were out in the world, and it was nice to see some zones populated again. I think that GW2 can provide some of that, but only if it doesn’t constantly add Living Story arcs. An update with new features every two weeks? I’m all in for that, but I think that working on an interesting storyline and taking the time needed to figure out how to execute it within the game is a much better way of dealing with the Living Story. It will also send the players out into the “original” world again instead of having them localized into a specific area or areas.

Still, I think that the mindset of players is also a crucial part of the success of an MMO. If the players are nothing but a nuisance to you, one might as well play a single player title instead.
- I’ve been lucky to find a nice guild with friendly players who help each other out and does something together. It had been a long time since I had experienced those kind of players.
