they were most likely curbstomped by Sylvari and Asura for being too dangerous. and they could’ve gone extinct over the last 250 years.

Because Angorodons were awful, awful nightmarish mobs.
Some of my characters banded together and hunted every last angorodon to extinction just to make sure none of them ever plagued our descendents again.
The rest just got caught in the crossfire.
