First excuse me for my English it is not that great. Second, as I’m reading some forum posts people are “angry” about the prices that ware set on the expansion, I’m also not fond of them but this is why. Lets say that the free game(so gw2 that you get as an extra) is not important for the veterans of gw2 or even someone that bought the game yesterday, but the problem is(at least for me) that I don’t know what I’m getting and when I’m getting it. What did they reveal of this so called “challenging group content”, what is the release date, they did not even reveal all the elite specializations for the classes, when are we getting something revealed because that is what people need. I was hyped about the expansion and will probably be buying it, just not with this info I have so far, because it feels like I’m buying a cat in a sack. What do you think?

I think we should all throw ridiculous sums of money at ANet and get something in return that’s basically worth a third of the paid price.

BRILLIANT.

“Guild Wars 2 fans are big role-players, and
we love to give them the tools they need
to have big, important events!” Stop lying, ANet.

Don’t buy it until you have more information.

  1. Anet consistently overhypes and under-delivers so why risk it… particularly at the $50 price point.
  2. If you buy even though they are giving you no information, you’ll do it again next time. Don’t encourage this behavior.

Agreed. The only thing that we know exactly what it is is Stronghold because of the beta. Maybe future betas will reveal more.
For me – no way I am pre-purchasing based on Stronghold alone. It’s not as awesome as Alliance Battles and Fort Aspenwood.

… Now if everyone would just take the ‘we don’t know enough’ into considerations while complaining about the price…

They’re asking us to preorder the game now and they’ve simply not shown that there’s $50 worth of content (I don’t think that there is).

The burden’s on them because they’ve long since lost our trust.

To justify the price expansion should be at least 50% of core game. I doubt its all that large. No char slot for base preorder is a slap in the face as without that you cant even get full expansion – new class.

Arrogant devs are another slap in the face

I think the good way for ANet to deal with situation would be to explain, that they are including one character slot in standard version for granted and so even haven’t mentioned about that separately.
Deluxe and Ultimate versions get SECOND (additional) character slot, and that is mentioned explicitly.

Please, ANet, do this and you won’t be losing people’s faith in your honesty.

They haven’t lost my trust, I’m still hoping the expansion will offer me plenty of new things to do.
I’m not sure how we would measure the content in any case, would we count maps? Eh not so sure if that would be the best way of doing it, since lets take a present in game map say Queensdale. How much play time did you get out of it? Once you completed the map you likely went on to the next one, and then the next one. In terms of content there was a lot, but there wasn’t a lot of replay-ability though. So my hope is that even if we get less maps, we’d get more mileage out of the available content.
