We need BIGGER hammers!
I couldn’t possibly disagree more. 90% of hammer skins are ridiculously huge.

Agreed. Compared to real-life examples most of the hammers and maces we have are so huge they’d be completed impractical.
Granted this is a fantasy game, and one where aesthetics are important for most people, but I don’t think that means we need to get even more ridiculous than the ones we already have.

people shouldn’t be bringing up real life hammers, because they would look utterly pathetic in an RPG.
you want a monolithic weapon that will make the six Gods run and hide!
SMAASH!
More like we need hammers that don’t have clipping issues with my characters’ head.
Please no, they’re already 496337% the size of normal warhammers
I dont want my characters wielding a weapon they cant wield. Im already annoyed by the greatswords fighting style as a Liechtenauer student.

Hammers are fine the way they are. This isn’t Final Fantasy.

Or Monster Hunter, now that’s game with ridiculous weapon proportions.
On other hand, some of the current larger than normal weapons mostly fit for Norns and Charr, which are physically stronger than humans.
I rarely do PvP or Hard PvE, unless it’s organized.
I agree. A hammer got the right size if a whole asura family fits underneath
Gw2 characters gave magical powers that give them the ability to wield large metal weapons as if they were plastic.
So I don’t have a problem with more giant hammers.

those seem to be 1 hand warhammers or almost a mix of mace and hammer….
When looking at the 2 handed hammers in gw2 the biggest problem with most of them is not even the overall size itsself in my opinion
But instead the size of the staff part where you hold the Hammer
To me it feels like on ~90% of hammers it is so ridiculousy thin that it looks like as if the Hammer would immediatly break after using it for one attack….
some of the bad examples is Balthazar’s Hammer, Tormented Hammer or
Fractal Hammer
one of the good examples for a proper size would be Magmaton

Its the magically enhanced strength that makes the current oversization possible. Magic has its limits

These are pikehammers. They’re meant 1.5-handing. Meaning you can wield them with one hand for swinging, but aimed techniques require a second hand.

At least in that game the hammer really is a slow, unwieldy powerhouse. Like you can’t even swing it unless you are 100% certain that you’re not going to get attacked.
For me, I imagine transmutation charges as something that exists in the GW2 NPC universe. So a ridiculous proportioned mallet would intimidate enemies, but the person wielding it would feel the same mass, and swing of their age old trusty war hammer they transmuted. So with that logic I’m ok with any skin. Even an inflatable squeaky mallet which I would love to have immediately, if put in the game. But for some skins I agree the part you hold is just way too thin. Looks like it would kill your hands.
