It is very annoying. Muting the game sound is ridiculous and is not an option. You can block the person using it, but you will still hear this annoying ringing.
Is that what that is? I’ve been turning off my sound till I can get away from it. (I have migraines and something about that sound can trigger one).
Pretty sure if you turn down player instrument volume that will turn off hobo-tron’s voice… at least that what I think I did =p

Sadly enough this isn’t the case. The ho-ho-tron mini and job-o-tron backpack always make sound even when you turn down the player instrument volume. In order to get rid of the ho-ho-tron and job-o-tron (or any other -tron) sounds you have to turn down the FX volume, which also turns down all the player- and enemy skill sounds, which most of us obviously do not want.
+1 please, I really hope someone at ANet considers this.
You don;t have to even add an option to mute mini’s – just make ho-ho tron like other mini’s so he uses his bell occasionally and not 100 percent all the time.
Ever done a fractal with someone who has the ho-ho tron mini? I was going insane with the constant non stop ringing sound all the time. This is really not neccessary at all – If I got my infinite choir bell out and followed people around ringing the one note constantly I would get banned for harassment.

Ho-ho tron should be banned for harassment.
It just like the backpack not sure who thought either was a good idea. Fine if a individual want to see/hear it then let them have that option, not force it upon everyone nearby.
It was probably the same person who thought having everyone see the flash of level/skill consumable was also great for the game.

Yes.
Second only to turning off other players visual effects. Those’ll get you killed in a dungeon, if you’re stacked with two big charr using Twilight. Mind you, if you tell them not to res you then you won’t have to listen to Ho Ho Tron.
Maybe if we all start reporting users for verbal abuse?
