With dry top and silver waste so much new stuff has been brought into the game - I think it would be fair when bags of each size would be given 2-4 more slots.

Salvage things you don’t need and store collectibles.

it’s not interesting for them, they want you to buy bag and bank slots expansions

160 slots is more than enough for me where do you get so much junk? I farm sw from time to time and still have around 30 free slots.

why not just double bag sizes? things are always growing exponentially.

I have 100 slots on my main, and I rarely get to the point where my inventory is full. Salvage as you go, vendor and sell on the TP when you can, and deposit collectibles.

I’m sure being too pedantic, but this is not exponential growth (… as a former mathematician it’s painful to see the word misused).

This looks like linear growth (each release offers a roughly constant number of new items) with a relatively low coefficient.

(Think of it this way: if each new release had 20% more items and you started with 1000 items, then in 100 releases (every 2 weeks, that’d take 4 years) you’d have 82 billion items. Exponential growth is fast.)

I also wish for more space, but the issue for me is clearly wanting to keep too much; at some point, it’s worth deciding that throwing things away (or selling) is better than keeping on the off chance that it’ll be useful at some point — it won’t be useful or valuable enough on average to justify the time.

Do you have 20-slot bags in each of your 7 potential bags slots? I have less than that and store toys, tonics, a variety of foods, multiple weapon and armor slots, and it takes ages before I run out of room and need to salvage. With salvaging and deposit-all, I never run out.

What are you doing differently, so that you think just 14 more slots is going to help a lot?

Yeah 20 slot bags would exponentially go to 400 when squared or 40 when you multiply it by 2 to the 1st power right..? Some reason 2x came to powers to me idk..

Well even at double size it wouldnt fit the exponential growth of other things.

Simple solution, which I would like a lot: Make the dry top and silverwastes currencies store in your account wallet. I would still carry around lockpicks and maybe shovels but everything more than that is a turnoff and I’ve been to the silverwastes maybe twice – because of all this clutter. It’s not just about the space it takes away but also this stuff destroying the system of how I arrange things.

We do need bigger bags but we also need to be able to finish the meta achievement for luminescent armor which has been broken for over a month now and has yet to be fixed.

Im at 160 slots, and i rarely fill that up, if you are in so desperate need for inventory space just stop by a merchant every now and then or take a break to sell some stuff off on the TP, problem solved

Having over 100 inventory slots is usually more than enough for me. By depositing collectibles and keeping stacks of Mystic Forge kits, I can always clear out enough space to keep farming.

I agree with this completely! I have all bag slots unlocked on my main and 18-20 slot bags on each slot….. Yet it still fills up because I have stuff from Silverwastes and dry top + other stuff I keep on my toon like nourishment and food and weapons and armor with dif stats.

You know what a big QoL thing would be instead of bigger bags, which would just fill up so you need more bags, is a gem store permanent bank access. That would allow you to store all your extra armor, food, weapons, etc in your regular bank instead of your inventory. Open up the bank whenever you need anything while in PvE, WvW or HoTM. Anytime you switch alts, no matter where you are you open up the bank, put your copper fed salvage, permanent harvesting tools, permanent bank access away and pick up the items you stored in the bank, if you want them. Then switch to the alt and either run to the bank or use a permanent bank access you bought for it.

I bought a TP permanent bank access and it’s be of the best QoL features there is. I can access my bank no matter what I’m doing besides PvP and take stuff out and put stuff away all the time. For inventory management it’s great and ANet should sell them in the gem store.

Be careful what you ask for
ANet may give it to you.

We have still since the release of this game “Beginner Rucksacks” that give us only 20 Slot.

I think its about time, that Anet releases there a way in the game to upgrade the Beginner Rucksack into better Rucksacks that have more Slots and maybe also more/better functionalities in form of some QoL features, like directly putting Items from 1 Rucksack into a Rucksack of an other character of your account, without having to use the account chest between charcters with such upgraded Rucksacks.

let it work like this for example:

Game Release = Beginner Rucksack = 20 Slots
Mystic Forge Recipe = Adventurer Rucksack = 30 Slots
Mystic Forge Upgrade AR = Heroic Rucksack = 50 Slots
Crafting Recipe HR (Leather Crafting) = Magical Rucksack = 60 Slots + Item Share Function for your Account for Characters that have a MR
Crafting Recipe MR = Mystical Rucksack = 80 Slots + Item Share Function + Quick Use Slots for useable items like Buff Food, Potions, Toys ect.
Mystic Forge Recipe MR = Ascended Rucksack = 90 Slots + ITS + QUS + Currency Slots for Region Currencies like Bandit Crests
Crafting Recipe AsR = Legendary Rucksack = 100 Slots + ITS + QUS +CS +Use All Function to be able to use stacks of items with just one click instantly

Wouldn’t that be awesome ?

Personally I like the idea behind sub classes ~ quoted from Chris Whiteside

How about instead of more and more and more slots to comb through we get fewer drops with more mats per salvage? The amount of crap that has to be sorted through is just dumb. It’s one more thing that makes this game less enjoyable. I’ve started playing some other MMOs recently and it is so nice to be able to go through multiple raids and a few hours of playing without having to stop to clear out my bags, and that’s without any additional storage.

Inventory management is not a fun mini game, and on top of the other shortcomings present at current and the lack of other things to do, making what there is to do more tedious isn’t a way to keep players around.

I’m hoping that with the expansion we will get at least 22 slot bags. It would really be nice to have some more space since so many things have been added to the game since start.

Permanent bank access is a nice idea to solve many people’s problems….but the trouble is that your bank might be full and thus not so useful to access. Additional bank slots or inventory slots would be cool. I don’t want to log to different characters anytime I need to get some stupid thing that I could currently use.

I personally have all the bank slots, all inventory spaces on 3 characters with 20 slot bags and still having more space would make my life easier (especially on my character that I use for TP). Nowadays you could be carrying 2-3 sets of armor, all necessary potions and consumables and additionally you have a lot of junk from the new maps so the inventory space might become limited.

It is not as much about all the drops we are getting as it is about all the things we have to keep on hand.

And if you don’t have problem at all with your inventory space …. good for you but maybe realize that people are not all playing the game like you do.

Things from the new maps shouldn’t take up more than one slot each in your inventory, should they? Can’t we access them at vendors directly from the bank, now?

Or is it the ‘leave the map, leave the good instance’ problem?

There are also a lot of stuff like Geodes, Heart of the Destroyer etc which isn’t being moved through “Deposit All Materials” (or going directly to your Wallet), so you will have to carry around these items until you reach a bank or crafting station somewhere in the World.

There is also a limit for how much space you will have for storage at your bank ([30 items x 250 (stack for the same items)] x up to max 12 bank slot). I don’t know if you can organise in which order things will be placed like with bags for each kind (equipment bags, junk (oil bags) and so on), but my bank are growing very full at the moment due to what I need for crafting Mewdrey, Legendary weapon (map completion etc) and maybe ascended gear in the future. Anyway, the more you will jump around in the world and collect things, the more problem there will be with enough storage space both for bank account and for how much space you have in inventory even if you would salvage and sell things on the go, which I do. The worst thing, at least for me, is that Black Lion TP very often prevent me from selling loot/items after killed a champ through the World as fast as I am able with a message that I have sold to many items too fast and have to wait a minute (could be to prevent bots or that the real problem are server related: too heavy load on server due to all people that will have to sell things to empty their inventory at TP before going to next champ).

In short: it is not enough to sell items, if you can not get Black Lion’s TP to keep up with the speed ppl are selling things when they are in different places in the World and want to get rid of items in exchange for some money from TP and there is a need to have a better system to both keep items as exchange (like geodes) or crafting materials which have been added later in the games progression and do not go to deposit from inventory.
