It makes me so angry that we have so few armor skins and when I use outfit I cant display my fancy armor skins with them. I would love to see way more good looking armor skins in gemstore. All of the existing outfits could be armor skins instead, even though armor skins require transmutation charges after the first use which may be problem for some people, but I have like 170 unused.

Love you ArenaNet<3

Unless/until the policy is changed (it was instituted due to player feedback), Armor sets will be available from in-game content, and Outfits from the Gem Store (with a very few exceptions).

Good luck.

Yes and how many full armor sets have they released since they got that feedback?

I don’t know, 16?, counting Light, Medium and Heavy. Or 6, if not. /shrug

I’m guessing there will be some more with the new expansion.

Good luck.

Since outfits were released:

Of course, you only asked for full armour sets. I have no desire to grab and link the plethora of partial sets and one-offs. Hope this helps.

by quote of anet:
“Living worlds will allow us to release small bundles of skins into the game. It is during this period we focus on the production of outfits, and gem store skins to maintain a steady income for production. An outfit requires much less time to create than a full set of armor, one of the reasons being we don’t have to spend time on the clipping issues. We are working on a way to release components as individual items, but the future we will see how viable this process it, so no promises. We believe the best time to release full sets of armors and weapons will be during the releases of the expansions in which we can release several sets at once” – MO

6 of those sets are copypasta with glow, that is that. The armor is hard to make excuse is bland. No one cares if it is the same design (i.e. those 6 armor sets) they clearly can paste in the skins for each armor class for meta cheevos, they can do the same for outfits

I want to keep both armor skins and outfits. Outfits are the only way my Asura Guardian can wear dresses. She doesn’t want to have to wear heavy armor all the time.

What we need is more variety of armor: some dresses for heavy asura, in your case, some pants for medium and light… Outfits are NOT a solution. They are only a cheap patch.

Out of the new armors they released…I wonder how many are actually being used? I find most of them to be ugly and not even worth my time pursuing the skin. Weird buttflaps and trench coats and pointy random bits do not make for nice fashion :/

I suspect that the OP thinks that both are made by the same set of people. However my guess is that outfits, which are cheap and easy to make, are made by a different team than armor, which is expensive and difficult to make. In that case the number of outfits made has no effect on the number of armors made and removing or reducing outfits numbers won’t bring out armor any faster. In fact, it may reduce the number of armors because less money from the gemstore means a reduced budget. In other words, they are not comparable and productions of the two don’t conflict.

Be careful what you ask for

I agree with the OP that there should be more armor sets versus outfits. Clipping may be thing but would prefer that over outfits and being able to mix and match gives your player a more unique feel.

Now that said, there should be 1-2 in game sets added for each gem store set. A lot of people enjoy working towards things like that in game. The drive of the collectors and achievement hunters shouldn’t be under estimated and things like that extend the replayability of the game. Not to mention if they are added as lot drops or associated to reward tracks under the different game modes. I support the gem store but the goodwill of adding items to both sides is huge. Good gaming to you.
