Ok what is it about this debuff that made Anet decide to give it to EVERYONE.

Seriously, every second mob applies this Condition.

Every class seems to apply it with an auto-attack.

It’s everywhere…it’s so abundant it’s ridiculous.

Not only is it a fairly potent Condition against melee classes, it also helps cover additional Conditions that may be applied.

This is bad game design if you’re going to hand out Conditions like Candy during Halloween.

I simply love the constructive criticism that has been put out here.

It’s likely because there is currently far too much uptime on vigor in both PvE and PvP, which will be addressed soonish. Bring this up after those fixes and maybe they’ll address weakness in kind.

Weakness is a direct counter to berserkers. I for one think this is a good thing. If more berserkers were cut off at the nuts, maybe we’d see less of them.

Just fight Guardians. No need to worry about getting weakness there or cripple….

I am not sure being blinded and blocked is better than weakness. At least with weakness you’re still doing something. With blinds and blocks it is worse than swinging at air since things with charges will get used up.

Signet of Judgement, 5seconds of AoE Weakness every 24sec when traited, which is plenty of time for the Guardian to compltely reset while half of your blows barely poke him, and since it gives Retaliation too, they’ll be damaging you as well.

Heck, I carry it just for the stun breaker.

I would direct you to the weakness page on the wiki if I knew how to do links but there are 2 auto attacks that have weakness and not that many other class skills have it compared to other conditions. I don’t know about how often mobs give this condition but I have never had a big problem with it. Bring condition removals

Applying weakness via an auto-attack, whether this is done by a player or a mob, is a mechanic that offers no meaningful counter-play. Condition removal is supposed to be the counter to conditions, but if the condition can be immediately re-applied, that counter is almost worthless. At least with bleeds, removal gets rid of all stacks, and the applier has to start from scratch. With duration conditions like weakness, one hit and the condition is back full-force. As a result, this is an inherently boring mechanic.

And for the record, Weakness affects all builds, not just berserker.

Are people really calling stoning of all things overpowered? It’s one of those two auto-attacks that applies weakness. While there may be a little too much weakness in the game, being on an auto-attack does not inherently make that auto-attack overpowered.

I can’t even remember the last time I saw an elementalist use the earth staff auto-attack, you swap in to earth to use your finishers then leave for fire or air if you want to deal damage or water if you need to heal. Keeping weakness on a single target with a weapon whose every damaging ability is scaled down to virtually nothing against a single target isn’t a great tactic.

Weakness affects condition builds and bunker builds less severely than it does direct damage builds.
