Why are most the weapons in gw2 so tiny? The only big hammers are magmaton/colluss and Jugger the rest are tiny lil things. Tiny little shields aswell that barely cover the persons arm let alone anything else. Axes are pretty small aswell and some maces too. Greatswords and staffs are the only big things.

Y u give us pocket weapons anet?

It depends on the skin. Some skins are HUGE while others are very tiny. It’s worse if you play a small character, though.

The Long Road
Goal: To have one character of every race, gender, and armor class combination at level 80.
Current progress: Human 4/6 | Charr 1/6 | Norn 1/6 | Sylvari 1/6 | Asura 1/6 | Total: 8/30

the shields are tiny i wont lie. The biggest one that is on a norn is as big as their chest. The ghastly grining is okay sized on charr. Cant feel like a big heavy tank person with tiny shields. I feel bad for asura, even GS look tiny on them.

Y’know I’m comfortable with smaller weapons in game, and a hot-hatch to drive…

Just sayin’

Feeling bad due to my response does not mean it was a personal attack.

With the weapon skin choices there are now, there is quite a variety, however, it would be great if there is more weapon skins in the near future.

Play an Asura and see your tiny weapons shrink even more when sheathed.

Valiant Aislinn – Aveneo Lightbringer – Shalene Amuriel – Dread Cathulu
Fojja – Vyxxi – Nymmra – Mymmra – Champion of Dwayna .. and more

I agree that shield should be bigger. Where are the large kite/tower shields?

It’s not size that matters, it’s what you can do with it that matters.

Prince Rurik and Lady Althea. Anyone else see the incompatibilty here?

I pretty much just spin around waving mine about… so you’d think size matters…

the funny part about the current shield size is that they are kite shields. They are meant to be that small for horseback jousting. Gw2 ironically has no mounts.
The shield is pretty useless in a game based on movement, plus their cd’s are way too long.

What we know as tower shields would never have worked in combat the way it is in GW2. Big, unwieldy shields only work in a very close formation. If you’re more or less on your own, you need to be able to move your shield around quick enough to block incoming strikes when your opponent tries to flank you. I actually think most shields are rather bigger than they need to be, but it’s still ok. Tower shields would just be ridiculous.

The hammers are also big enough. Anything more would just look stupid, sorry.

The same goes for one-handed weapons. Of course they’re small. They’re one-handed. Some of them are actually long enough to count as two-handed – even some axes. Look at the grawl axe for instance. I mean, yeah, it’s ugly, of course, but it’s big for a one-handed weapon.

Of course I’d be grateful if they added greataxes as a new weapon class at one point.
