A lot of guys from one of the guilds I’m in tease me for having wasted gold on this gs.

Honestly I like it anyway, so I don’t feel my gold was wasted, but I wanted to show them how I would have really liked this greatsword to be like.

It was just an attempt, but in the end I came up with what I think is a decent piece.

So, back to us, what if we could gradually and esthetically evolve our weapons in many steps with a slightly difference between each step.
We already saw something similar with the Spinal Blade back.

Would you like to see it used on weapons (and/or armor) too?

I would definitely like to see this. The only problem I could see being ran into is making sure each evolution step has a gradual yet distinct look to it.

Weapon evolution, perhaps similar to the spinal back piece would be nifty. Maybe even taken so far as to be implemented in a similar fashion, it levels through the tiers as well as cosmetically. It would definitely need to require a bit of effort, and should have decently distinct looks at each stage. If I liked the looks, it’s definitely something I’d play around with. Although, I think we’d need something more drastic than your example OP. There isn’t enough difference between some of the variations to be noticeable or worthwhile for me.

Don’t look at me like that. Whatever you’ve heard, it’s probably not true.

I agree with you River, luckily weapons differently from armor should be easy enough for devs to produce, but if they can manage to create just few of them because the number of models grow per set, they could implement a system similat to Lineage 2 item enchanting for the more common weapons.
I think it would be a good gold sink and an appealing carrot for people who like to grind.

@Lanfear: mine was just a quick attempt >.> I would like to see a bit more variation too, but I think you should be still able to recognize from what they evolved.

This reminds me of the old 9Dragons days, when i spent months….MONTHS refining weapons. +1 +2 +3 were easy but after that weapons had a chance to break, and they required even more items for refine. But the higher the + , the better your weapons loked(and stronger it got)

I could enjoy this in GW2 … maybe not the exact same thing, but some variation ^^
