What if instead of a weapon swap, which may confuse people as their weapons won’t swap, they added an F5 skill which swaps the attunements?

There is a stance which kind of “resets” your attunements and makes your 4&5 skills match the attunements for the first three. This helps to address that issue I feel.
For Ele’s, weapon swap is equivalent to changing attunements (the “on weapon swap” behaviors apply to an Ele when they change an attunement). So there is already precedence for it being tied to weapon swap (but what I’m suggesting would only trigger the weapon swap effect once).

Weaver is unplayable if you can’t swap leading with off hand weapon. Off-hand skills are powerful but for situational use and waiting 4 seconds makes them useless. The defense skills you need to stay alive as always buried under 4-7 second cooldowns.

Swapping main/off-hand weapons is interesting, but I was specifically talking about swapping the two active attunements, not weapons — and if the Ele is using only a single attunement, then weapon-swap would be deactivated. Ele has never been able to swap weapons [during combat], and personally, I don’t think that mechanic should change.

Its a balance decision most likely, to avoid players from just swapping back and forth between a very powerful set of skills.
It just occurred to me that there is no need for a weapon swap to switch main/off-hand attunements. You just have to active the attunement that’s already set for the off-hand, and that effectively does a switch.

It’s not unplayable; at least not on sword. To compensate for the fact that you don’t have easy access to your defensive offhand skills, Karl has cleverly given Weavers one of the best evades in the game with Water Sword 2, a second decent evade with Earth Sword 2, and a great Stun Break+Evade with Twist of Fate. The GCD could use a reduction to allow you to reach the offhands a bit faster but I wouldn’t say it’s unplayable. Besides, if they buff barrier considering it’s not very good in it’s current state for Weaver, we should have even more defenses.
I think weaver needs a regular weapon swap (2 weapon sets) right now weaver doesn’t have enough buttons to do anything, so having the extra button diversity from the extra weaponset would be nice.
