Web based ads for GW2 = Shades of Evony
I’ve yet to see it.
Sex sells, and the video game market is disproportionally populated by adolescent males – in maturity if not chronological age. For bonus points, discuss Freudian psychology as it relates to the abundance of improbably huge swords…
Haha, I thought you said “a female charr with a plunging neckline and more than ample bosom” and I was about to object to the idea of a charr with cleavage.
I’ll be disappointed if this is true, as I found the evony ads to be offensive to both women and men who are gamers.

Because we can’t be angry about both?
Those are real adds? I thought they where fake steal your info add’s… I gotta agree who vettes this stuff? Those add’s look over the top shady along with the one with the quggan.
Wasn’t Evony that online web game that scammed people and were run by a shady gold selling company?
I’ve never seen a Guild Wars 2 ad that didn’t look slapped together in Flash.
If I hadn’t preordered the game on the strength of recommendations from some friends, I wouldn’t be picking it up on the strength of those ads.
All the GW2 ads I’ve seen have just used the logo and some text about no subscription fees.

^This.
Are you sure it was a real Guild Wars 2 ad, and not something made by a third party site to try and steals your info?
I’ve seen the GW2 ad with the Quaggan hundreds of times, and I’ve also seen the ad you’re talking about like 5-10 times. They really do look shady, but I clicked on them anyway and they took me to the main GW2 website. Just looks like terrible advertising.

The above was my true concern. I’d hate to see anyone compare GW2 to Evony /shudder
