This whole weekend i’ve started to experience a very odd bug. Mobs rubberband 300-400 units in random directions repeatedly. My ping is ~60ms and all my skills, characters, and other players show no lag at all, yet mobs bounce around like rubber balls.

This is incredibly frustrating as mobs constantly move out of melee range, meaning I am spending more time chasing them around then I am actually playing. I ended up just logging out last night because I couldn’t take it anymore.

Please fix this asap.

Is there a revenant around? Revenants have a displace skill which teleports enemies away from them; the teleported enemies have no visual effect to show that they are being affected by this skill, which makes it appear as if they were rubberbanding. Revenant is still in the beta phase, so don’t go crazy over this if revenants are indeed the source of your confusion.

Golden shackles are still golden.

They should just remove displacement, its the worst skill they ever created, game feels laggy and wonky.

That does sound like what I was experiencing. If this is indeed somehow intended then I hope they remove that skill very quickly, otherwise I will certainly be kicking any revenant from my group.

Consider it just another annoying knockback skill. It’s pretty much how it functions. If thief had a knockback on their weapon skills that use initiative, you’d probably be just as angry. This particular revenant skill gets spammed because the displacement skill uses a resource without a cooldown like thief headshot. I personally think it’s a powerful tool that has a number of good applications (possibly needs tuning with bosses and Defiance), but just like a gaggle of rangers using their knockback skills, there is a time and a place for everything.

It’s a pulsing skill, 4 times over 4 seconds I believe. From the little I’ve played the rev, while the skill is janky as kitten, it can be used as a way to pile mobs together if they dont want to entirely stack. Additionally, instead of crying for it to be removed, it’s far better, and easier, to ask for it to be tinkered with to make it less of a problem. Like… I dunno, 2 pulses, once on landing, again 2 seconds later? Personally I want to test if the skill interrupts. If it does, then that’s another far greater use.

As for the defiance, I’m not sure if there’s a way to make that work. Unyielding Anguish is a forced shadowstep, as opposed to a pull, knockback, knockdown, etc. Because it also pulses 4 times, a rev with full energy can rip off 12 stacks of defiance in 5-6 seconds.
