I logged in to the game today to find “Point of No Return – All of Tyria is threatened” in the Welcome Screen announcements.

I take it we’re getting another Feature Patch on January 13th?

Well… I thought I was being funny. Maybe I needed a little “winky” guy ( )to let you know I’m (of course) having a little bit of fun.

Get it? Feature Patch? All of Tyria threatened? Bueller? Bueller? Anyone?

Wouldn’t it be funny if in the final fight with Mordremoth we would first whittle all his health down alone, and then all of a sudden Trahearne hops out of nowhere and finishes Mordy off with Caladbolg. He would then be heralded as the true hero of the realm and the player character forgotten all about.

I thought it was funny.

What this “point of no return” is however, I’m concerned about. I’m hoping it is merely changes in lore. We DO NOT need to see yet another zone destroyed “to generate excitement”

Reminds me of the ending to Dragonslayer.

I think that I shall never see
A tree as pale as the Pale Tree.

A tree whose avatar is best
Described as something manifest.

For is it really there or not?
And if it is, what of root rot?

With children all born to be wyld,
Still, I am her most special child.

All Tyrians will someday learn:
To kneel before the great Trahearne!

The table is a fable.

Tachenon, that’s beautiful. Pure Emily kitteninson.

Seriously? The feline filter blocks the name of a great poet? Her name is D then ick then inson.

With skin of bark, the darkest sheen
Splayed with moss at most unseen

With wit as dry as leaves of tinder
And a tongue so sharp to leave a splinter

With a gaze of amber, grim and golden
Of which the whole world is beholden

With the surest of strength, marvel of sight
Caladbolg gripped in furious might

Trahearne, the one, both wondrous and fell,
Utters but a whisper, “This wont end well”.

There once was a Sylvari named Trahearne
Who claimed he just wanted to learn.
But then he stole my Personal Story
And accepted all of the glory.
Now I want to chop down that overgrown fern.

More Trahaerne poetry! Especially in the style of other poets! e.e. (Well, his last name was filtered out, but he’s known for his eccentric use of syntax and grammar), Robert Frost and Elizabeth Barrett Browning next, please! And more haiku. Because there will never be enough snarky haiku in my world.

“Be angry about legendary weapons, sure, but what about the recent drought of content?”
-Mike O’Brien
Because we can’t be angry about both?
