What GW2 has that WoW and other MMO's don't.
I find it funny that on other forums, people say that WoW’s customer support is the best. Their reasoning? It’s P2P, and they have an “obligation to help you”. Yet shouldn’t all companies aid their customers whenever they need help? I would say though that ANet can be considered one of the leaders in gaming customer support.
Doesn’t Rift have some of the best in the industry (and actually have the numbers to prove it)?
Either way, customer support is not something I would mention to recommend this game to others. The customer support of this game is one of the major negatives about it, and it seems like anyone praising ANet for it must be willfully ignorant. (…and yeah, while that may have come off harsh, I’m really NOT trying to offend anyone)
WoW has great phone support if you calmly explain what is going on, and I’ve heard Rift is similar. I honestly wouldn’t highlight the customer support of any game without phone support, as ticket systems tend to be good for only standard issues that aren’t time critical in general (for example, someone I know had a WoW account that was literally being hacked before his eyes while he called in and they banned the hacker and did character recovery etc.).
Speaking of character recovery, GW2 doesn’t even have character rollbacks, let alone recovery, yet…
ANet doesnt even have a phone number you can call, you have to wait forever for an email response and then pray like hell you got someone who actually understands your question the first time, cause otherwise you have to reply and wait even longer.
Took 3 days to find someone to answer my email cause each person kept derping and flat ignoring everything I was saying.
So…no, I called blizzard to unlock my wife’s account for WoW cause it had been hacked into while deactivated, took all of 10 minutes to unlock it and put an authenticator on it.
Blizzard has really good customer service, ANet is decent but they need actual phone support to meet demand and solve problems in a timely manner, or at the very least live chat support like other companies that lack phone support.
WoW has excellent customer support, everything else sucks.

I sent two emails regarding a complaint about infraction in forums, and i’ve yet to receive a reply. Right now, I’m no longer expecting. (Remember how there’s a little sentence that says “If you believe this infraction to be in error or if you want to appeal, please send an email to…”, that one).
Not sure if serious….
Blizzard, by far, has the best CS i’ve ever experienced in any MMO in the last 6 years.
