What GW2 lacks in: Endgame
Welcome to the club. Prepare to be told that you don’t know how to play the game, that you’ve been brainwashed by WoW, that you don’t “get” ArenaNet’s “vision”, and that you should go play with pandas. That’s what any criticism of this game gets you.
What gw2 lacks?

What, you trying to say you don’t find 5 DPS zerging mobs down with 0 communication fun?
Lacks communication in multiple ways.
There definitely are roles like support, damage, and control in the game. The most successful dungeon groups employ these roles and manage to complete even the most difficult dungeons with little difficulty. The issue isn’t that there aren’t goals at level 80, it’s that they aren’t as attractive as the proverbial carrot on a stick.
See, there are two different factions on these forums. There are those that don’t want vertical progression and are really upset there is any at all right now. There was this huge controversy over the introduction of ascended level gear. Then you have those that feel the game is severely lacking in vertical progression even now and are “bored” because they don’t have goals to strive for.
Endgame was originally intended to artificially increase the lifespan of a game. It kept players playing even when most of the game’s content was depleted. It made perfect sense in a subscription based MMO.
I’m not ignoring what you wrote about Orr and high level zones. That has less to do with lack of endgame and more to do with the quality of it. I can’t really agree or disagree with you in this regard because I don’t really farm Orr or farm anywhere for that matter.
End game in all new MMO, sub or free. won’t be 100% there, you will see the skeleton there to create onto it for future updates months, or even years in advance. Look on any new MMO and you will see the same complaints, No ‘end game’ most of which you will hear first, and mostly from the hard core rush to level cap players, whom have probably played mmo’s with years of updates under their belts.
More end game content will come, but if you go into a new MMO expecting it to be gushing in it, got bad news for you

I completely agree with this. GW1 had a similar approach, real engame was added in Nightfall and EOTN. It is the price for f2p.
End game is call fractal grind.
You’re right on the PvE areas being too rushy and easy, but completely wrong on dungeons; it’s just you who didn’t understand how roles work in GW2 yet, let me give you some example.
For instance, these days I’m a support/DPS Thief: I protect my team from ranged fire with Smoke Screen, stealth/heal them in a pinch with Shadow Refuge, cleanse their conditions with Signet of Agility – while also dealing DPS to the enemies.
I also have a set for Tank/Condition; I stay in the front line using DB to stack bleeds and evade/dodge constantly to waste all of enemies’ DPS, while also using all my blinding tools to keep them unable to hit me or my team.
I can also go Area Denial with shortbow and mass weakness, with traited for applying further weakness.
I can also go Trapper/Poison sharer for massive control to me and my team.
The endgame.. what does that even mean?
If you refer to content well as we all know content gets chewed through faster than developers can create it. When you do get new content and you chew through it, it then gets toss aside and no longer counts as this “endgame.”
Is it repeatable content? There is a share of repeatable content available to us. Activities, World vs World, Monetary Wealth Acquisition(there is a title for that), Helping your Guild, Dungeon Running, Fractals, Venting rage on poor defenseless rabbits and other tiny defenseless animals.
Your rant doesn’t give any actual solid suggestions on what you are actually after in this elusive “endgame.” Content? More Mechanic-Driven Dungeons? More Fractals? More Lands to Explore? More Dynamic Events?
Really what GuildWars2 lacks isn’t endgame, its player influenced content. Whether this be player created quests, guild halls, player housing, or Player-Made Jumping Puzzles, Guild- We need something that we can share with everyone else and in the process create our own endless content.

Well, personally I was expecting WvW with some depth, or GvG combat, anything like that.
It was the only endgame I could think of them implementing given that its a F2P game and their resources are limited compared to pay per month games.
But yeah, now they went down the fractal track they basically gotta keep releasing new PvE content to keep people hooked and they currently don’t have the resources to do so and they know it all too well, hence the push for the gem store.
Suggestions? Make gem store items more appealing rather than destroying the rest of your game to force people to use it, you already alienated your PvP playerbase so that’s about the only option you have left.
Then once you have improved your income from the game release addictive new content. Classes/Dungeons/Seasonal RNG money spikes/zones etc etc.

gw is a expensive fashion show. get gear, show it to friends, talk about it, do runs to pass time in between chilling. it is what u make it, just like anything
I wouldn’t say that the WvW system lacks depth at all. Maybe its just not your thing? What do you mean when you say you expected it to have ‘some depth’?

Hi everybody,
As we already have an identical thread here, we’ll now close this one in order to avoid duplicates.
