For example – Mike O’Brien, the founder or Arena Net -“He led the design and content creation teams of the original Guild Wars.”

Is he no longer working on GW2?
What about others? The ones who were responsible for PvP, etc?
Were they all fired or did they leave?

No, Mike O’Brien is still the president of Anet.

Other veteran GW1 devs, such as Josh Foreman (origin of the male Necro dance in GW1!), Mike Ferguson, Isiah Cartwright, and community managers such as Gaile Gray are all still with ArenaNet.

They’re probably busy… You know, working.

Josh Foreman was incredibly active in the SAB forums, the group I believe he took a lead in.

Colin Johanson produced content for Factions/Nightfall/EoTN, and you hear him and see his infamous smile all the time.

You hear from Jon Sharp a lot in the class balance forums. He worked on Nightfall and EoTN.

I can go on, but you get the point.

You are complaining that the game is bad, the original GW was better, and so we should hear more from the GW1 since it was the better game.

The thing is, I don’t think the original GW was that much better, in the end. Considering all the grind introduced in GW:EN, it doesn’t surprise me to see the direction the GW2 PvE has taken. Considering how Izaiah Cartwright and his team destroyed PvP in the original GW, I’m not surprised the sPvP in GW2 is so bad; considering that he and Linsey Murdock were behind the reward system in GW2, I’m not surprised the system is as bad as it is.

If anything, the flaws in GW2 are pretty much the flaws in the original GW, only made worse.

treadmill, of being in that obvious pattern of every time I catch up you are going to
put another carrot in front of me” – Mike O’Brien right before Ascended weapons

No. I just want to know whether they’re still working on GW2 or not.
I’d love to hear what the founder of Arena Net thinks of the GW2 future.

Haven’t heard kitten from Eric OR Mike since Beta….

It’s very disturbing considering just how vocal they were only months before launch.
Where the hell are they? We should have heard atleast some blurbs from them by now.

Eric’s absence is especially alarming considering he was THE LEAD Designer for this game… He’s also always been the lead guy for Level design philosophy which has just kind of completely lost its way here in Gw2 if you read the Dungeon forums long enough or spend any time at all playing with the Dungeon community in-game. Love it or Hate it, DOA was all his doing and there’s nothing even close to it in this game.
