What I would give to be able to move my UI

I’m surprised there’s not a single comment made…

I agree, it’s frustrating. Although it’s not exactly necessary I guess. Along the same vein, I would like a item slot bar for all my trinkets and toys

Yessss! An extra bar for quick access to some items would be awesome.
Probably right on top of the other shelved ideas at the moment. Including build templates and a guild alliance system. Right now it’s crunch time for Arena Net to get HoT done. The only people that seem to occasionally have more time on their hands are the artist, animators, and audio people. Which their extra time is directed to make more black lion stuff. Same reason why Josh Foreman is not working on any SAB content at the moment. Since they have him tied up doing a bunch of work on HoT.
There are many threads discussing this on the forum, and I bet if you polled everyone they would be in favor of UI customization. I would love to see this and build templates happen!

Man this thread is bad for me. I hadn’t thought about all the neat QoL things that could be in the UI but aren’t. A bar like that would be great, especially if you could just put any items on it, which I don’t see why you shouldn’t be able to, since it’s just a shortcut for opening your inventory and doing it there. Food, potions, weapons… my mouth is watering just thinking about it.
I’d still give all of that up for a BUILD SAVER
the thing that bothers me the most is where the enemy health bar is and how big the damage numbers are. i can barely see what I’m fighting because all my damage numbers are blocking my view of them, hammer fractal comes to mind when i try to feedback his purple bolts but can see the tell through all the numbers.

I think it’s absolutely necessary.
Not when I can go to some 200+other MMOs and there’s some way to customize it in the most basic of ways so that it reflects the set up that I’ve been able to replicate and rely on as most people will do as they go from MMO to MMO.
It’s kinda like a basic feature of an MMORPG, is being able to move around and customize parts of your UI.

Then why don’t you go play those 200+ other MMO’s that you can move the UI around on? Ba-Bye

You could probably due with not making stupid comments when someone makes a suggestion that would benifit a mass entire majority of players in this game.

No a benifit to the “mass entire majority” would be something like them fixing the broken Traits system or giving weapons more than one set of skills or adding GvG/HoH to the PvP modes or fixing broken skills and traits. Being able to move thing in the UI is not game breaking like you seem to think. It’s an inconvenience at most and I’d rather see the devs working on the real problems GW2 has.

No need for the obviously stupid comment though.
“Why don’t you just go play those other games”
Why don’t you just not talk if you have nothing smart to say? Because I’m obviously here for a reason and making a suggestion that helps a lot of people is called FEEDBACK.
Why would you tell someone to leave when they came to a game for the enjoyment that it gave to them, why would you be clearly offended when someone wants to improve a game that they like playing.
You clearly took that personally and acted like it was a terrible bashing of the game, and the only thing I wanted was a simple industry standard that’s avaible across all games as part of an expected feature of the genre.
“I would like to be able to move my UI”
“Why don’t you just quit”
Wow really…?

Although they had it in GW1, personally, I don’t really care about the UI in GW2 as much. It’s mostly in convenient places and the important things are all available.
Also, bear in mind how you had it in other MMOs, is not going to be how a lot of players would have it in their MMOs. For isntance, I’m perfectly fine with how GW2 has set up the interface because it so happens to be pretty much the same as how I had it set up in GW1. Now, how about that?
A customisable UI is a nice thing to have, but hardly game breaking compared to traits, the expansion, skill balance, and more importantly condition game play

I never said that people should have it MY way. I just said it should be customizable. I also never said it was gamebreaking.
And just because YOU had a similar setup in GW1 and it just so happens to work for YOU, doesn’t mean it works for everyone else.

That’s precisely my point. Do you see what I’m getting at? It’s a minor QoL thing that is nice to have but in the grand scheme of things is hardly going to be on Anet’s radar.

I was “making fun of” your comment, if you didn’t catch that.
It’s not really a “minor” Quality of Life thing, it’s more like the game is missing a major aspect of UI design that’s standard in more than 200 other games.
Yes there are more pressing issues at this time, but that doesn’t invalidate anything I’ve said.
It’s one of the major reasons I don’t play GW2 very much, is because the UI is so oddly placed and designed.

XD looks like we danced around each other. In all honesty though, about the only thing I would change in the current UI is the position of the minimap. I’d rather it be in the top right hand corner. I’d also like an event notification tab that slid out from the side of the screen, kinda like the Overwolf overlay mouse over. Although some people play with small text to free up more of the screen, my eyes aren’t that good so I play it with the medium sized interface.
