What I would like to see from The Shatterer
I’d prefer Mary levels. She honestly is the perfect difficulty step. Easier then Teq, but still totally failable.
Yeah, the shatterer should totally get a revamp, just because its an really good looking boss. And the area were it spawns really fits it perfectly. It would be fun if the boss spawned like really good champions that needed to care of otherwise you would wipe. Or some massive braincontrol powers.
On the one hand more interesting mechanics would be nice. On the other I don’t want another Teq. Yeah yeah other people do it all the time I’m sure, I’ve never gotten into a server that could. Something along Marionette is more what I’d like to see. The marionette requires large groups yes, but it didn’t require massive group collaboration, the paths were fairly separate and the mini-bosses were well balanced (I believe, just no one really knew tactics all that well). I think ANet need to experiment with the big group small collaboration model a bit more. Currently we have encounters like shatterer that is no-collaboration or tequatl that requires large scale collaboration.
Teq is a pretty good level for bosses I think. Claw of Jormag is a 100% Kill ratio. The LT’s of dragons should not be easy to kill/ drive off.
I would like to see more done with the Shatterers crystals. Like Branded styled armor made by using the Crystal Lodes etc to give them some value at all.
As for the boss itself, I’d like to see more done with his crystal element. The towers of regen are nice but thats about all he really does for something he’s freiken made out of. Like he can bring out crystal giants like the Frost Brood born models but all shattered and purple. That walk towards him and give him buffs or something that just makes him more than a foot spank
So many good ideas here. I also think Mario hit the sweet spot for difficulty level. For me, it was the right amount of fun/stress. Shatterer needs a dynamic change, and for starters I’d make it like the final boss in the grawl fractal: you can’t stop moving. Serves us right for stacking on his right side for years :P
P.S. A way to get that Branded armor: SUCH a good idea.

^ That. I think it would be fantastic if like as an announcement that they’re buffing him like Teq, they just gave him one new attack like a week early. And it would be a right side foot stomp. Just swipes over to his right and decimates the zerg of people shooting him then laughs and flies away to go giggle in the mountains till we’ve managed to pick up the corpses.
Making the bosses drop ratio go up would increase the amount of players taking place in each event, because we all love those special dragon drops (teq). Or maybe make us fight twindragons, or letting the shatterer have two heads which we need to kill to succed.
Think big…because the dragons ain’t small XD

I feel that when he does egt revamped, that the Entire Brand should feel like its against you. The brand is His domain, where it be crystals, lighting strikes, or even the land terriforming to cause choas, I think when the reva,p does happen, it will feel alive

It would be sweet to have like in Orr, constant dmg or some form of debuff while the event is active.
I’m sure I’m in the minority in this, and I’m sure some people may even rage down on me for suggesting it, but I feel as though ALL Dragons should be Tequatl difficulty. They are DRAGONS. Yet outside of Tequatl, they are all a joke. If you just slightly increased the difficulty on each, they would still be laughable for what they’re supposed to be.
If you want easier world bosses – there are PLENTY to be found.
On the topic of suggestions for improving Shatterer. I actually had a discussion with one of my guilds on it last week. We came up with ideas like being able to launch on top of Shatterer via one of those cattle cannons that can be found in Charr territory. Or using grappling hooks to hold it down on the ground. Multiple people would have to be stationed on each line and if the lines don’t hold, then Shatterer bursts upwards, hitting everyone underneath with a long knockdown.
Could continue but won’t right now. Had a lot of fun just throwing ideas back and forth over it. Would like a fight that feels like I’m fighting a dragon and one that is engaging on multiple levels.
I myself do agree with the idea that all dragon champs should be Teq difficulty……but I also feel Mary difficulty would please both groups of players.
