So how about it, In GW1 we had chests all over the open world to go and farm.

This had players out and about constantly farming chests for that ever elusive drop/or collectable.I think it would be better then the current system of only having chests for world bosses that create the Zerg/lag feast that is currently out.

The chests could be set like the way we farm nodes that certain zones have keys for that level and progress up and have the opportunity to drop different weapons and stuff.

this would increase players to zones all over

There are lots of hidden chests in the game. Once per day per character. They just are rarely anything amazing.

There’s 55+ chests marked by the jump puzzles and explorer achievements, and easily another 50+ unmarked chests all over Tyria.

I agree, there should be more of the big jp-chests in the world, but only spawn randomly (like 3 per map from a pool of 10). This way people would be rewarded for exploring the open world instead of waypointing from champ to champ etc. There could also be zone-specific keys which drop from enemies of that zone rarely. Reason: so that you spend time in that zone doing stuff instead of farming a chest and then leaving.

If they put GW1 style chests into this game you’d just have a ton of people complaining that it’s a scam to force them to buy keys and lockpicks (either as a gold sink or to force them to exchange gems for gold), that the RNG is terrible and that they’re forced to grind for the titles (lucky/unlucky).

There are chests scattered all over the world that have the chance to drop precursors and now ascended weapons, no key required. People do not open them. Why do you think that they would open something you need to get a RNG key for?

who said that the keys should be tradeable?? Maybe it would be better to have no keys at all… finding the chests will be enough since those can’t be found with guides, once there are enough possible spawnpoints and only a small number are there at a time.

actually with the recent patch I find myself spending more time searching the world looking for hidden chests rather than simply farming the world bosses. I’ve come to enjoy the seek and find nature of it. I would like to point out though that several boxes are guarded by veteran or champion mobs and not always easy to get to. Having to remember to bring a key on top of getting past the guards would be a serious kick in the teeth.

well npcs in the area could sell keys for karma. Would be nice to have something to spend your karma on.
