What are best weapons in game?
A razor sharp wit. Knocks ’em dead every time.
On average, Greatswords have the highest skill coefficients and the highest weapon damage. So, at a basic level, Greatswords are the most damaging weapons.
But the game is not “basic” on this front. While I believe the highest possible single hit damage is on a Greatsword skill (Gravedigger has a massive 3.0 coefficient), the actual highest DPS is on other weapons due to better attack speed and modifiers.
moon blade is the best
+100 strength
+80 agility
anyway to topic, if u talking about killing with weapons, it has something to do with class skills as well. since each class has diff skills, it is quite to determine the so-called best weap

the weapon itself is only part of what damage comes out. Next is profession, traits, armour, sigils, runes lots of thing contribute to what damage comes out in the end.
The comments are all correct. However I am interest in the “best” weapon in terms of base weapon statistics (kill power) regardless of class and specialization.
Kill power is extremely vague, what does it mean? Generally speaking berserker stats weapon has the highest “power”, with ascended and legendary tier weapons having a combination of stat that supports power, keep in mind that raw power isn’t the only way to deal dps in the game there is also condition stats.
Anyway if you wanted a particular weapon legendary Greatsword Eternity, though any berserker ascended Greatsword will have the same stat.

There’s a number of problems with this question. I’ll address one: you can’t disregard class and specialisation. No single weapon can be used by all classes. If you were to ask “What is the best gun in terms of kill power regardless of class” how am I to answer you if my ele can’t use a gun? The question doesn’t make sense in the way it’s phrased.

There’s no real straight answer. If what you mean by the best simply by, “Biggest base stat”, I guess that would be one of the ascended/legendary weapons, ignoring the customized stats.
As to which holds the biggest number, you’d have to look it up on the wiki.
Zerk/Assassin Staff #5 fire Ele.
Sorry, I broke the rules. But stats on a weapon are meaningless unless we know the rest of the armor stats of the fictious holder of said weapon.
BTW, Zoltar, Char skill – “Hidden Pistol” they can technically use a pistol. Which brings up another point, sometimes race is also important to consider when determining the answer to questions such as the OPs.

The question is: “what are the best weapons in the game”? Best is defined as maximum kill— not style, not skins. Maximum damage weapons. Uber kill weapons.
Say why you think they are the best. Staff/scepter/sword/projectile.
Do you actually play this game?

Ascneded weapons (or legendaries) mostly because they have top stats, most other weapons have some form of skillbalance, If you see huge numbers you’ll likely also face a long recharge if you see lower numbers attack speed might be (and likely is) higher.
Of course there are low DPS weapons. But they’ll give your enemy conditions to work with…
But for biggest numbers in DPS:
Zerk build, Ascended gear, food utility, banners, Might and vulnerability stacks and fury… this tends to leave you with warrior greatsword… The F1 Burst skill while in berzerker mode tends to hit for 12-15k… which is okay for a single hit. Of course you can get up to 60k+ with hundred blades but it’s 8+1 strikes…
Of course you could try the same with a full zerk/sin ascended thief doing a perfect backstab (dagger) with all possible modifiers…
Been There, Done That & Will do it again…except maybe world completion.

Rifles. Greatswords.

The wiki has a table that lists base weapon strength for the different types of weapons and their rarities.

Hope that helps,

Ele staff is #1 dmg dealer in pve
Out of bases stats, Greatsword but not all professions can used it.
I would say sword are great since they tend to be dps for the professions that used it. As for other remaining profession that can’t used Greatsword AND Sword, for Engineer, it rifle I think (is hammer still better when you’re a Scrapper) and dagger for Thief and Ele (not so much for Necro I think since axe is better unless you’re a Reaper).
Listen OP
what you should do is ask for the best weapon
for X class in Y situation
then people can help you out easily and give good advice
at least distinguish between PvP and PvE … and even then there can be major differences where a weapon is good in one PvE situation but not optimal in another PvE situation…

there is no best weapon in this game as any weapon that can be for class X good, can be for class Y by far not so good due to different gameplay mechanics and themes.
the only thign that mattes is what kind of gameplay style you prefer to play and which weapon fits the most to your personal most preferred playstyle.
If you prefer for exampel a very fast attacking playstyle, then you will want to play Thief with Daggers or Staff as Daredevils.
If you like more slower , but devastatign attacks, then you will want to play a Warrior/Guardian with Greatsword or Hammer.
if you are more the player, that doesnt like fast meele combat, than you will most likely prefer to play classes like Ranger, Mesmer, Elementalist and Necromancer with Staves/Longbow with builds with high range to keep enemies away from you as good as possible.
So there are no best weapons, just optimal fitting weapons/classes in regard of your personal most prefered playstyle and based on this you will choose, what class/weapon combination you will use for the most effective performance.
You surely wont play a meleeing thief with daggers, if you absolutely hate fast paced risky melee combat like the pest, just to say … so your “best” option to get the most optimal performance for you is to use weapons and classes, that fit simply the most to your own playstyle that you can personally handle the best and like the most.
