After a year of playing, I’ve started to run out of things to do in GW2 recently :/
I’ve got 4 lvl 80 characters. Crafted 2 legendaries. Crafted 2 ascended weapons. Done a fair amount of dungeons and fractals. WvW is a mess (Dragonbrand, we’ve lost all our flagship guilds and we’re getting very uneven matchups), Spvp… meh dont like it.

These days I’ve just been doing dailys, farming and a little bit of WvWing if my friends are on… Right now, I’m just looking forward to the big 15th oct balance patch to spice things up a bit (hopefully I’ll be able to get back on my ranger again).

Whats everyone else doing in gw2?

Mostly achievement point collecting. But then I’m enjoying the living story. I like the new dungeon for example. After two weeks, some other new thing comes out and I play with that. Sometimes I get it done pretty fast…like I got the dungeon meta on the first day. Sometimes the meta takes a few days.

And there’s plenty of other achievements to go for…if you like that sort of thing.

Daylie Node farming, daylie dungeons, daylie temples, leveling alts, farming for my legendary, playing dress up with my characters, achievement hunting, living story, fractals, debating with guildies about nonsense, generally having fun with friends and all that stuff.

I generally team up with guildies every evening. We do map completions, run story missions, hit some events along the way. That’s about it.

Been playing since pre-release.

- I have 8 characters at level 80 and have deleated one level 80 character becouse I was disapointed with the looks of that character.
- I have explored the world 100% with my main and 100% PvE maps with another.
- I have no Legendary becouse I find them all ugly and I am also the kind of guy who hates stuff with bragging rights.

What do I do?
- Most important I do the bi-weekly Living Story content alone and together with friends and family.
- I help friends and family doing event, exploring maps, story and telling them what I know.
- I continue to explore the world with my alts.
- I am still doing meta-event’s, not to farm but I actually like to do them but the loot is welcome
- I do the Scarlet Invasion’s … actually it is to get loot but that is becouse that everyone does that and it is impossible to compleate I am hoping for a clever fix.
- I play WvW very little with my guild.
- I play sPvP when I got a few minutes to spare.
- I figure out new and inovative builds.
- While doing all this, daily is compleated too but if that is not done til the end of the day I do the last things there too to get 5/5 that is.
- I do dungeons with my friends, guild and family.

that’s what I can think of for now… But sure there are days when I realy not feel like logging in like now, when I don’t have someone to play with … Actually I think that is the most important thing with MMO’s, to have someone to play with.

Permanent achievements, the ones that are left are mostly WvW and spvp which are taking for ever. Honestly the WvW ones are a bit over the top.

I’m not sure what I’m doing anymore. I have 3 level 80s (warr, necro, mesmer). I am working on map completion (88%). Other than that I’m gold farming, but I don’t even know what I want to do with it. I was considering making a legendary until the karma nerf sank that dream to the bottom of the ocean. I’m not at all interested in the ascended weapons.

I am in a guild. When I first started in it, it was great. Daily/weekly things to do, people to chat with; got me into WvW and some PvP and some dungeons; we ran temples and did JPs and it was a lot of fun. They were great. Then… it died. Suddenly and completely. Now I’m the only one that logs in. I really am no longer having a lot of fun so I’m not sure what to do. If I need help to finish Malchor’s Leap map, I have no one to do that with.

I log in every day, do my dailies, get my monthlies, and run the champ train cycle while slowly and boringly complete maps. I guess AP hunting. I do like some of the LS content, but with no guildmates I am loathe to do the new dungeon, since my experience with PUGs has been less than good. Can’t complete Teq because I have never been in a big enough group.

I don’t know. I used to look forward to playing. More and more it’s just becoming a mind-numbing, “well at least I’m not working or watching TV” exercise.

Hmm… you know that you can join atleast 3 guilds, you should try finding a new guild.
My first guild died too becouse they where all “just trying” this game and many left back to their old games or to new ones… Find a new guild with people who like this game and keep your old guild to see if your old friends logs back in.

PvP, pretty much since Day 1.

If you play PvE, you will always run out of things to do, regardless of what game you play, because dev-made content (PvE) is limited.

PvP on the other hand, is mostly player-generated-“content,” where every encounter is different.

If you want to get “more out of your game” in almost any game, play PvP.

Trust me map completion is not hard, it’s just mundane. If you stick to it for a few hours you can get that 88% to 100. I was at around 90% for months, figured what the hell may as well finish it. Took me a day between cleaning the house and doing hearts mostly t complete it.

Thanks. I have been working on it. At this point I have some WvW areas, most of the race cities, and Malchor’s Leap (my lord there’s a lot of champs there and NO people to help!). So ML is hard, but I find the cities boring to do on my own. With a friend or two it would make it more interesting. Congrats on completing for you!

I have posted on LFG, but no luck yet. I’m on IoJ if anyone can recommend a good, active, friendly guild.

I agree with this. Most of the heart quests are incredibly tedious. That alone is keeping me from getting map completion on more than one character. Please! No more finding rabbits to trade to the Jotun. I’d rather poke my eye out with a fork. I do like exploring though, and I do every DE I come across. The best part of exploring is when you find a cave and somewhere in there is a cool chest to open after killing some veterans or mobs. So much win!

I use youtube for vistas/jumping puzzles all the time. I loves the interwebs.

Well, I have 8-80’s, playing all classes, and master crafter. Original drive for this game was WvW. I’ve done WvW a lot less since server transfers. $20 pay to win transfers mostly ruined it. Since then I’ve mostly done temples and world bosses. I prefer true mmo gaming, so don’t multi-player instanced fractals or dungeons much at all.

But temples can be challenging fun, some bosses too including the pre events. Though with boss changes, I’ve had to write off some bosses, especially in the off-hours. Just like temples are abandoned in non-peak times. It’s cut my time playing the game a lot.

Now with ascended junk, I find myself grinding to get my wvw characters up to speed to play WvW …for once in a while play. So temples are less about challenging fun but for getting mats. Bosses are not for fun but for mats. Now my 8-80’s are either camping chests for mats or I’m using them to gather the same nodes over and over again for hours a day. I used to gather sometimes, but just to make personal gear or to sell some gear to make a little coin. But with everyone grinding crafting now, the TP is flooded with player made exo gear so really selling isn’t worth it any longer, not as it was. Now it’s just to sell junk I didn’t even want to make, to buy cheaper junk to salvage away for the mats.

After having played mmo’s for some 16 years, I can say with confidence that at this rate I’ll most likely burn out at some point and quit, to never come back. Probably by around the end of the year, early next, not sure when, but I’ll just move on to some other game if this is all this game has become (I’ve stuck with some sub mmo’s for 6+ yrs). This temporary living world stuff won’t keep me here, it’s not original one bit. Most games I’ve played had temporary content, it doesn’t make this game any different, nothing spectacularly innovative as advertised. No mention of expansion, so I can only guess they abandoned the original aspects of this game.

tl;dr: grind gear until I burn out.

Hmmm yea. I’ve given the bloodlusted WvW a go, didn’t like it, but still coped with it until after Anet announced WvW league play when every single organised guild from my server (DB) have left for tier 1 servers. Even up to this week, we’re stuck playing servers that are way stronger than us, and we just lost 100ish points last week. The matchup system doesnt seem to register that.

WvW seems like the only real solid endgame content in GW2. But they’ve been killing that off the past few weeks… and with so many big MMOs coming out, I dont think the temporary living worlds will be able to hold GW2 up. Really hope an expansions coming out soon.

I guess https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/game/gw2/Is-it-Fun-How-ArenaNet-Measures-Success/page/5#post2972912 says it all and hope Anet will see these posts and try and change the course of this game =/

You get an Ascended ring pretty much everyday on your first full FotM run each day on level 10 or higher runs. It also depends on your party. A good party and run though most dungeons in the game in about 10-15 mins so the 1 to 1.5 g is pretty reasonable, along with the emp frags.

Yeah I’m on a T2. Started here. We’ve been at T2 since the beginning, and after transfers lost all hopes of moving up no matter how well we play. When we face a T1, they just have huge zergs to throw at us, but our server has never been about full on zerg play. And what players did focus on zerg play, transferred to a T1 making things even more out of balance.

The only thing I can think of in hopes of fixing this type of game play, is to just let servers choose three factions and let us have home-server factional warfare using the wvw maps (just one server with three factions). Of course low populated servers would still suffer with not having enough players to fight, but at least matches would still be balanced.

Yes, shorter matches could work too, that’s what they are doing, right? So at least we can have population at the right time. Still though, we are less about zergs, so not all players will find that entirely fun.

Not much. I do the dailies then farm a bit in Frostgorge until I get bored. There’s not really much point to any of it. Gold is pretty much worthless in this game – there’s nothing to work for or spend it on. Legendary weapons are silly things for attention seekers I’m not interested in those. So besides that, I can play the game just as comfortably with 5g as I can with 100,000g.

After a year+ of doing the world bosses, I’ve gotten slightly bored of them. Also because they’ve buffed them recently with no better reward. We’ve been spoiled recently with 24/7 farm (queen’s pavillion, invasions etc) and now that’s been taken away we’re back to the old content which is now more difficult but less rewarding. Even though it’s more difficult, it’s still basically the same – stand around waiting, zerg it, move on. Add in a few more dodges and resses, use stability a bit more.

“meta” this, “meta” that. Please stop saying the word “meta”.

Yep, that’s what most people do, that’s what the mechanics allow, which just makes them more and more bored. One person doing all three SB pre-events, solo, 100 people standing in the swamp just waiting lol. Run right past 100 people, many running dance animations, while you’re headed to the other pre-event where no one else will lift a finger to do. Finally after all that, you manage to get to SB at around 50%, and if you are lucky and don’t get DC’d with suddenly coming upon 100+ people all in full combat (which has happened to me). Doubt that will ever change, people will just keep complaining how easy it is to stand there, and Anet will listen and just make the boss harder never addressing the real issues. It’s becoming more and more a game of zerg farming, everything else being skipped.

Other than that, I’ve been leveling alts, and just enjoying hanging out with my friends. We’ve been here since beta, and we’re still enjoying ourselves.

Well perhaps making keep siege looks like a real siege, not bubble at gate for 30 secs then rush to keep lord and siege is done in 2 mins. Now enemy zerg is coming to reclaim keep which also takes 2 mins. Like a dog chasing its tail…

On topic, im doing everything, puzzles, dungeons, world bosses, wvw…exploring while leveling alt is great too, world is so rich it never stops to amaze me!

This is one of the things I loved about City of Heroes. With 12 character slots per server and over 11 servers (they added some there near the end), it was a character designers heaven. I don’t know of any other MMO that’s quite so generous in terms of character slots or character design options.

In Guild Wars we got 2 more character slots with each campaign, but here… no campaigns! Still, I’m also up to 13 characters, with 8 80s and 5 ‘new generation’ guys. But boy howdy do I wish we had more races/professions alternate story/mission/quest pathways for the alts to follow.

Main:
-Dungeons whenever the feeling takes me, so PUG galore there and I don’t mind.
-Sometimes the daily
-Living Story
-Crafting
-Helping out guilds that want extra muscle for something or other, I don’t care I got paid from the mission

Alts:
-Achievement hunting like Slayer stuff
-Dailies and the occasional Champ hunting
-Some Crafting
-Activities like Keg Brawl or Sanctum Sprint
-Map Exploration (Main already completed his)

Elona, Land of the Golden Sun….and undead…and poison. The travel brochure lied okay?!

\o/ yay~ Just completed my first personal story, Maguuma explorer, Shiverpeak explorer, and Krytan explorer.

What now? If anyones got any cool suggestions hit me up! But I’ll pass if it has anything to do with role-playing in Tarnish Coast’s Divinity’s Reach. It can get pretty wild up there :O

Been farming mostly. Crafting Flammseeker and saving up for ascended armor. Pretty much waiting until the 15th balance changes then I’ll get back into PvP and WvW.

I lurk around the forums and spread hatred.

When update hits I quickly browse the patch notes looking for a miracle, then I log in and log out disappointed after 2 hours.

Do guild missions. Now and then, dailies. Map complete. Gear progression. Endless champion and material farming/grinding. That carrot is so darn close I tell you, SO DARN CLOSE.

“We just don’t want players to grind in Guild Wars 2.” -Colin Johanson
Don’t support the Gem Shop, it’s that easy.

I’m bored as well, the game is an Achievement Simulator at most now.

Can’t earn/work towards decent rewards without RNG or Gold. Done all the content offered. Waiting on precursor crafting. fotm is dull and unrewarding. spvp and wvw are the same maps over/over/over/over…

I play:
sometimes I level alts,
sometimes I feel like a dungeon
sometimes I hit up dragons,
sometimes I hit up LS,
sometimes I do map complete
sometimes I work towards my legendary…
Basically, whatever floats my boat

Right now, just farming gold to turn into gems so I can finally buy a bunch of bank slots and delete my mule characters to make actual alts.

Back to WoW, make GW2 fun please.
