I keep rewatching the videos on the new elite specs and each time I watch em I’m more and more torn on what I’m going to start my PoF adventure on.

Scourge looks awesome and interesting

Lightsaber Engi = lightsaber and cool visuals, very versatile.

Weaver – double attunements?! combined attunements? finally a sword!

Spellbreaker – never been big on warriors, but this spec actually looks fun.

Firebrand – awww yes, gimme dem tomes again and the helmet with bookpages on top? ooh lordy

Deadeye – barely played my theif, only level 50 so not sure where that will take me once
i see more on DE but DD seems more fun atm

Soulbeast – as a druid/ranger main right now, I need more info on soulbeast.

Renegade – a bit iffy on, but I love the Rev lore and heavy armor/bows appeal to me.
Mirage – looks awesome but it will take a bit to get me off Chronomancer. Shield n wells are just too fun.

What are your thoughts? What you guys currently “maining” right now are you gonna switch professions come PoF

I do think I’ll use my boost on a war for the spellbreaker though.

I play multiple classes (druid, dh, engineer, a bit of cps), but I’m only really excited for the Holosmith.

Power Reaper buffs changes in the traits and Spite tree rework confirmed to bring Reaper back in line as a Power build….

this alone got me hyped to hell….

no specific infos yet tough.

Also MOUNTS well animated MOUNTS with abilities and Dying freaken can color the MOUNTS !!!!!!!

I’m more excited for tomorrow’s patch than I am for the upcoming elite specs. Right now I’m not sure I’ll enjoy Mirage more than Chrono, so I’m just waiting and seeing how it turns out.

I’m looking forward to trying deadeye on my assassin’s creed look-alike thief.

Mounts, and dyeing them, and exploring the new maps. Can’t wait.

I’m not really into builds that much.

Exploration, new builds to test, new gear stats and new items to craft. I mean the first map is suppose to be as big as multiple HoT maps. With 3 wp on the map it will make deaths in hidden areas more punishing and rewarding for exploring those area.

I’m mostly hoping the elite specs are at least decent for my main classes, and interesting enough that I’d want to play the others more.

Warrior and Revenant are my least played classes in any content. Never really got much of a feel for Warrior, despite it being a strong class across the board. Revenant was just underwhelming and as a nitpick I hate the Glint symbol that stays under you when you run that legend.

Spellbreaker looks like it’ll be fun as hell though. May not make the PVE meta, but I’m gonna run it anyway. Dagger has always been one of my favourite weapons. As for Renegade… ehhh, I’m not keen on the charr summons as my Rev is sylvari, but shortbow should be a nice addition for a condi build.

I main Ranger, Mesmer and Ele. Perfectly happy with what I’ve seen of their new elite specs so far. Soulbeast looks like it’ll finally offer a decent melee option, Mirage is potentially OP as hell and Weaver is going to be amazing. Nothing is cooler to me than a magic user with a sword.

Everything other than mirage as it looks like to be the most underwhelming of the nine.

I am still stoked on fire longbow berserker, but really excited about basic trait line reworks as well as raw content. Yes please on more builds and more content, anet.

What I’m excited about is ofc the story continuation, also new elite spec = new gameplay

Soulbeast, I wasn’t too sold on it since it looked like a total removal of the pet but it looks to be a style where you are switching in and out and still comboing with the pet. Which is pretty neat to me.

I’m pretty tired of druid now and going back to my dps builds sounds perfect to me atm.

I like Weaver and Deadeye a lot too.

I’d reckon, Deadeye, Weave, Spellbreaker and possibly Soulbeast look power based.

But totally agree with everyone on mount hype. Really cool how they implemented them.

Most of all as a GW1 player, going back to Elona and seeing the old stuff combined with new stuff is the most exciting thing

As a Guild Wars 1 veteran, this is what I’m most excited about as well.

Not really. I’m eh about mounts and will probably avoid using them if I do decide to purchase PoF. I was on the fence initially and thought the demo weekends would help make my decision but since elite specs are only going to be available on the second one and only in WvW or PvP, I’m passing for right now. I’ll see how things shake out come end of year.

If I understand things correctly, you will not be able to avoid using mounts in PoF. It sounds as though specific mounts will be needed in order to advance through specific maps areas and/or specific tasks to continue through the storyline.

Well that is unfortunate. I had heard that rumor and was hoping that was all it was.

It’s the mounts and maybe the Weaver and Firebrand.

I’m unsure about the Scourge at first I didn’t like the ‘Scourge’ but I’ll think about it yet.

I love Power Reaper so much, I’m glad it’s going to be more of a thing again! I’m curious to see how Scourge plays- I don’t think it could top Reaper for me personally, but I’m glad necros are getting a dedicated condi/support elite.

And as if I wasn’t excited enough about mounts (seriously, who doesn’t want to ride a DINOSAUR), I love all the animations I’ve seen for them. Specifically that one idle animation where the raptor shakes itself, throws the rider off-balance, and the rider just gives it a “are you serious?” gesture. I’ve had horses do the same thing while I’m riding and I’ve reacted similarly, so it was really nice to see that sort of detail in the game footage.

I’m excited to find NPCs in the world that you can actually speak to who tell you actual lore. HoT was terrible for this; really, really terrible. I think PoF shows a lot more promise.

I’ll mostly be looking forward to map exploration, and playing weaver spec. Though as it seems every class/spec has just been nerfed I’d imagine everyone is looking forward to all the new elite specs now.

There will be another round of balance patches to come, don’t fret. As a ranger, I know that feel but give it a chance

Also, about having to use mouns to reach certain areas of the map/complete things with mounts absolutely no different than gliders.

I’ve some builds in mind for some of the specs but most are for characters that haven’t even finished the personal story yet so i’ll get to them one day..

I’m mostly looking forward to the story and exploring the new maps.. because those are 2 of the only things left that haven’t been spoiled for me XD

I find most of the new content very well done but fairly NOT directed to me. Right now the most attractive thing in the game for me is the improved rocket boots skill… which doesn’t require PoF to be used.

However. There IS something really amazing this new expansion brings to me: playing new stuff with friends again. That is invaluable, and GW2 is the best game for doing that.

I am most excited about the new elite specializations, the mounts, exploring Elona and the new soundtrack.

Elite specializations:
The new specialisations look really fun! Firebrand and weaver! My main class is a guardian and I adore her so much. And I LOVE books. Seeing the offensive and defensive tomes got me really hyped. But I am not sure if firebrand is better than dragonhunter(I like my longbow, thank you very much!). :P

My second favorite class is my elementalist. Dual attunement is a dream come true! Can’t wait to play that elite specialization.

Mounts:
The jackal! So cute!! And can we really dye them? Really?! I at least hoped for a few skins for them. But if we could actually dye them, that would be awesome -

Yea looks like dying them is a thing, I saw a video with different coloured raptors during a race and I think there is a video somewhere of them showing a dying option.
